Afforess's Modmods

Thx for the explanation, Afforess! I will coordinate with Losius-Cesar now, so we don't do double the work. Therefore I start from the end of the list. Every 5- or 10 files our translations could then be posted.

You could start a translation thread for that, btw - it would attract players of other languages to flock together. Easier coordination is essential. An additional poll would get some more attention for that tread as well...

@Losius schick mir doch bitte ne PN mit den von dir schon übersetzten Dateien und einer kurzen Info an welchen du in Kürze zu arbeiten gedenkst. Danke!

I have put the elements in the scheme and used them in a building. The pedia does not show the OR resources as required so I am assuming it is not working while I hunt for some useful graphics.

Further examination shows that it is not working in game (1.51beta2). In the picture you can see that I can build the building even though I have no resources. (yes, I am using fisherman's hut graphics for now.) Also attached is a simple building so you can test it yourself. Since there are no graphics it can go in any mod folder.

I'm sorry, my documentation was incorrect. Remove the code segment that I suggested. The PrereqVicinityBonus is already an OR list. There is no AND list, I was mistaken. I've updated my documentation to reflect this.

If you need a building to require more than 2 AND resources, I'll see what I can do, but for now, it works fine.

The reason I haven't done this is two-fold:

A.) That requires a lot of time and effort

B.) I don't care. I speak English, I mod in English. Veo No Problemos. ;)

Sure, those are selfish and biased reasons. But I don't really care.

However, if you do the work for me, and get it translated to German, I'll happily include the changes.

Excellent, works a treat now. Now if only there was an OR prequsite for buildings :mischief:

Example:- I have designed a Tapestry Maker building to require Cotton, Sheep or Silk a better way of doing it would have been to require the correct tradition represented by requiring one of the buildings Cotton Weaver (req cotton), Silk Weaver (req silk) or Wool Weaver (req Sheep).

Oh, I see. Right now you can only make it require AND req's, not OR. Interesting...

PS. I added your Revolution Modifier for buildings to the SDK today. ;)

Edit:

If you ever see a new XML tag you think you would find useful, from FFH2's list, or any other mod, I'd be happy to look at adding it.

For the Weather Lore Tech, the quote should be attributed to Thomas Hood (1799-1845), and it's not serious, it's a satirical reworking of an earlier rhyme from the 16th century about memorising the number of days in each month:http://www.richardphillips.org.uk/number/Num31.htm

This is one of those rather rare cases these days where the Wikipedia article is complete tripe. That bit at the start appears to be straight out-of-arse-talking.

"The following humorous rhyme[4] has been attributed to various authors in various eras" - The footnote leads nowhere, and various ERAs? 150 years ago.

"indicating how generally true it is of winter on the west coasts of both Europe and North America" - Er...Wut? Apart from making zero sense in its own right April, June, September, and November are all...Winter?

So yeah, either attribute or change?

*edit* Jesus, the article is completely borked from top to bottom. I feel the urge to purge with cleansing fire of deletion.

I attributed him. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Look at where it's being referenced, if you need help. That is a Game Option, so it's one of those choices you select when setting up a custom map. Basically, it exposes more information to the player.

ok,

i have translated a few of the smaller texts. these are:

there are no more ...<MISSING_TEXT> anymore, cause i filled these parts with the english texts. i think these parts caused some strange ingame problems.. as u told us.

also i've found a few german texts already translated, but full of mistakes ;) and i changed that. somebody tried it with an online translation service???

btw: i also remember a mistake in RoM, when i still had the german BtS installed. somebody translated the recource of 'Lead' into german 'Leitung' (wich means Leading) instead of 'Blei' :crazyeye:

will this mod mod also work for 2.8?

Afforess's modmod's is the largest conglomeration of modmod's for Rise of Mankind. I always have new features, bug fixes, and lots and lots of content, creating an entirely new game, with rich, interesting, and cutting-edge features.

I also frequently have public beta tests of my next version. They are not as stable as my final releases, but if you must have the newest features and be on the cutting edge, they are always available.

Made for Rise of Mankind 2.8

You're so mean. :p

:lol

Brutally Honest, not mean. Sometimes people need a cup of cold, harsh, truth thrown in their faces.

Your avatar actor is gay. :mischief: (no disrespect, just some midnight-drunk off-topic homophobia)

I had no idea you had homophobia. :mischief: Should I change it to a teletubby for you?

You mean Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Po, and Tinky Winky? I like Poo the best...^^

But wait, I go ask my girlfried who is btw begging me to turn off the PC (not in the sense of political correctness).

Have a nice Thanksgiving,
again: no disrespect just some "cold, harsh, truth" I couldn't withstand... ;-)
