I've seen Cuivienen active in other threads recently, so perhaps she just forgot about this. Hmmm. Nonethless, I've got me eye on it. If she doesn't get it by tonight, you can assume that I've got it, although I won't be able to play until Sunday night.

I try to attack Barcelona, but our luck runs out. It will have to wait.

Summary. We're looking good now. We can enter a Republic next turn, and we have an army that is strong compared to Russia. We can probably take them with our War Chariots, and expecially now that we have a sword army to support them. We should build markets in our core. We also have suicide galleys getting ready to make trips.
 
:goodjob: On the turns! Glad Bede got his chariot ride. I say to attack Russia to rid nearby lands of those pests. Amazed how many techs KB grabbed in 1 turn!

I think that Cuivienen can post occaisionally in normal threads, but with school starting it would be too big of a commitment to play an SG. Don't know though.

We are building KT in our capital (that can bi switched to Sistine or Bach pretty soon) and have an FP prebuild in another big town (it already has library and market so what the hell). Chariots are slowly upgrading to knights. Have a lot of consolidation to do, and we ought to odernize our army before we go on. Russia will have pikes and muskets, so chariots are a going to be quaint at this point. We are jostling for a small island with Russia (just rushed a temple, we might flip the Russian town ince it's closer to our capital) and have another one to ourselves (settler ready to plop down next turn). But things look good! We can be the tech broker.
 
We had that nice big stack of chariots and an army camped out on the Russian border, but I wasn't sure whether to attack or not. On the one hand, there is the stack... it's hard to say no to a couple of dozen units all piled up and ready to go! On the other hand, there is the timing... is it the right time to mop up this continent? In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't attack, because Invention, Chivalry and Gunpowder all started to roll in. Those make our war chariots museum pieces. But, it would probably have been possible to take out one or two Russian cities before anything bad happened... maybe :)
 
Since we are no longer lonely I htink it's time to remove the Russians from the face of the earth. Cats, swords, chariots and knights should dent her muskets, methinks. BTW does Cathy even have saltpeter, or do we?

Played 11 turns to get it back on track (it confuses me because I sometimes find my turn number if I forget which one I'm on by going to the victory status screen and looking at the total.)
Preturn- Declare on Russia. Yaroslavl captured. The War Chariots are useful because so far I've only seen Spearmen. Pithom looks like it might be in danger right next to Russia without defense, switch to Spearman.
IBT- Galley sinks. Thebes and Bede's Hill riot, hire an entertainer in both.

Got it. Actually I got it this morning and played a little before I transported Linebacker to the game of the week. In looking at the save, we are a very unhappy people. I don't think we have the juice to eliminate Ekaterina. Therefore, peace in my time in return for Irkutsk, Murmansk, 1gpt, 2g and a partridge in a pear tree. Then, drunk on olive oil from the olive branch, we secure wines from Ekaterina for silks, dyes and 9gpt. MM the cities. Rush settlers in Buto, Seville, Hieranopolis (however it's spelled) Science to 40% to get chem in 9. Germany is up theology but I don't want to pay too much for tech insurance so no deal. Have just returned from the game of the week (Linebacker had many nice tackles, 1 catch for 20 yards; I promise I won't post about him anymore except in the appropriate thread). BTW, Ekaterina has neither horses nor saltpeter causing me to draw sabre and cackle gleefully. My turns will (as usual) be spent building infrastructure and setting up Bede for a war. :lol:
 
Sounds like we're going to lose all our military before it can be upgraded. Maybe get some concessions from Russia and build some modern units for 20 turns before going at it again? I don't see what's the hurry. We have everything we need for now.

Very few significant things happened. Founded 4 new cities. Germans build Copernicus in 510, We're now researching metallurgy and the knights keep moving toward the russians. Sorry Bede, no attack this set unless you are Patton, Von Clauswhatever, and Sonny Zoo (he was sonny bono's older brother right?) all rolled into one.
 
Got it...but who is Sonny Zoo?
