AK5, Rule of the idiots

Small, panagea, 60% Water. No research. Barbaric. We are idiots and therefore can do no research. Our goal is to find all the parts to make ourselves complete (since one is not a complete idiot until all required parts are found and installed). Since we are idiots, we like our leaders to tell us what to do. Therefore, we must change to fuedalism when we get it and then change to Fascism when we get it. We are despots, monarchs, fuedal lords or facist leaders period. As anyone who has tolerated me in an SG knows, I like tanks. Therefore we are the Germans. These rules seem vague and I will tweek them as needed. This game is intended to be non time intensive and about killing things. I also want to play with panzers. Open to suggestions about level. Thinking Monarch, Emperor or DG. I do not like clearing jungles so this will be arid, 5 billion. Looking for 3 other playa's. I'll generate some starts if I get enough interest.

Such a cool name, and it's an AK game, sounds fun (never used fascism or feudalism.) I'll join. Monarch or Emperor here.

I downloaded CPRsuite and trade assist, opened them, but don't see anything changed in my map... What's up?

EDIT: a few questions though; you like tanks but they don't appear untill modern age and this is a small map, that means 4 opponents. Does that mean we don't get to annihilate them untill pantzer appearance?
And if we do get the pleasure of ransacking them before won't the game be over in a jif?
(PS I tried one solo game on monarch with the Celts and within the first 50-60 turns i almost killed the entire English civ (5 cities captured, 3 small ones left)

This is your game, of course, but I'm thinking about civs. DocM has a point, I'm wondering about REL trait. Obviously cheap temples is wasted, but 1 turn anarchy could help considering 2 govt changes (I don't use temples much anyway after lessons from the monk.) That would be (w/ other trait): Egypt (IND), Babylon (SCI), Japan (MIL), India (COM), Spain (SEA), Celts (AGR), and Arabia (EXP). A fast UU would be nice if we want to conquer the world as fast as we can (which sounds fun), so now we have Egypt (but WC doesn't do much and is weak so it's out), Japan (good choice, 4/4/2 UU replacing 4/3/2, Mil good trait for this), India (good UU and traits, so it's a good choice, just a little overplayed), Spain (UU only good for pillaging and SEA trait isn't used), Celts (good choice, 3/2/2 swordsman UU and good traits), and Arabia (4/2/3 Knight UU, EXP okay, good choice as well.) So I would pick Japan, India, Celts, or Arabs (if I would pick a final civ I'd choose Japan for the MIL trait and pretty good UU.) But that's just my opinion, and the choice of Germany is not bad, just giving options/opinions.

I would love to play as a pantzerd germ but then we need a special tactic to build them out untill MA without destroying too much.
What if u change map setting to standard?

Take a look at Bede02 for what can happen in a despot/feudalism/fascist game. That was DG on a small 'pelago map and you are trying it on a pan'......

Here's the tweaking of the rules:

Doing continents, not panagea. We need some breathing space. The government selections are optional, not mandatory. In other words, if we never get fascism, we don't have to go there.

@viper - I'm going to stick with Otto. currently playing a religious civ in eldar1 and I wanna try something new.

@DocM - we get 5 civs to kill not 4. When I say "I like tanks", it just means I like tanks and we're not required to wait until we have them to kill things. I have no problem with this being over before Fuedalism if we can do it.

Rules stuff: the usual no flagrant abuse of ROP. ship chains, etc. See AK1 for further detail if you need it.

Parameters: small, 60% water, continents, restless barbs, 3 billion, arid, cool. Respawn is off. SGL is on. 5 rivals, random. We are not allowed to build big wonders but we may keep them if we capture them. We may build small wonders. Wonders are idiot parts. Thus we get to keep them in our search for enough. 24 got it, 72 hour play.

Having trouble getting the starts to upload. Will get them up asap.

@ all - Bro Bede has warned ya. No responsibility for psychotic episodes from here on out. :) :crazyeye:
 
I rolled 3 starts. The first had a river and 2 BG. The second was almost as 'good' as DocT's best start ever (3 FP and lots of mountains). The third was this which is what we'll use. Only thing missing is fresh water. Oh well, idiots are too stupid to demand the best... :)

I'd move worker S and most likely settle on the spot. Hook up luxuries as soon as possible and find fresh water for irrigation.
 
lurker's comment: Hint - If you settle ON the silks you will gain an extra gold. And the city will have more good tiles to work off.

True, you miss out on the wheat for 10 turns, you have to consider that.

And I see you chickened out of doing the pangea map, good choice :)
 
It sounds like we can use all the gold we can get, so Gozpels suggestion sounds good to me, also, we don't have to road the silk anymore and have immediate acces to it. One question, it might sound stupid, but we're idiots after all, if u settle on a luxury can u share it with your other cities also?
I would start the worker on the BG.
Produce warrior, maybe 3 and a coastal settler that will be able to produce curragh later on.
 
tundra to the northeast, forest to the southeast. moving the worker SW, see if tiny reindeer appear to our wandering eyes. If nothing pops up, I'll head for the silks.

@DocM - the silk is shared if we settle on it.
 
I say move settler 1 S, as we still get the silks bonus, plus no tundra in our city radius.

If you ever need more, let me know. I'd be interested in giving this a shot. I've been wanting to try out no research for a while now. I've gotten pretty good with trading lately. I don't have extensive Monarch experience, but I have won 2 solo games on that difficulty (both domination).
