Akinator, the web genius (browser game)

Just tried it: it got Karl Marx, but it didn't get Anthony Burgess after 40 questions.

The first time I played until 20 questions, it guessed Douglass Adams, then didn't have Burgess on the list (but it did have some similar/related, like Kubrick, Huxley, Orwell, V for Vendetta, general dystopian people). I played again until 40 questions, trying to answer better by reading wikipedia along the way, and it again guessed Douglass Adams at 20, then Orwell, then C.S. Lewis at the end.

edit- nor did it get Crispus Attucks, but it did get Big Brother right at 40.

This is quite fun; I don't remember the last time I saw one of these either but they are neat. It didn't get Le Chatelier; I had to add introduce him to it in fact. It actually asked a ton of redundant questions: is he French; is he a scientist; did he discover something; is he of French origins...it seemed on the right track but never got it after 40. But then, I was surprised it got Duncan Idaho (at 30). I'm almost certain it must have already figured it out back in the twenties (does your character fight with a sword, has he died, maybe something else like he was not the main character) because question 30 was: "Is your character found in Star Wars" - No. Also, it pulled off Che Gueverra at 20 with incredibly random questions-all it asked was like: movie, reality show, singer/songwriter, video game, anime. I guess it was a process of elimination because it did ask whether he was American, or European, or Asian, all no's. Anyway, fun thing again.

Edit: One last thing, It was quite funny with John Galt; didn't get him but was on the list. Tyler Durden at 20, Yossarian at 30, then Atticus finch from To Kill a Mockingbird? Somehow I think it tends to ask redundant questions if you click on "More questions" - it asked like 3 times just if he is American, or from a novel.

WHAT?!!!!

No one has ever tried Eric Freeman before me?! WTH! You all deserve a portion of

GarbageDay.jpg

He got Barrack Obama, George Bush and Charles Darwin, but he was stumped by Richard Dawkins (he guessed Steven Hawking)

Edit: I even got him to guess himself

Mirc- give it some time, it can take awhile

Okay, but I've been waiting for ~8 minutes. And I have a fast connection (I easily get 6-7 mb/s). Anyway, I'll just leave it open in a separate tab and see what happens. :)

 Didn't expect it to get that right. :D I'd try with some obscure Romanian half-famous people around here and see if it can guess, I'm gonna try later today again.

I have defeated him by LingHuChong,a hero from a novel named 'Xiao'ao Jiang Hu', written by a famours Chinese writer called 'JinYong'.

He didn't get Turgot, though one of his choices (Robespierre) was at least in the right time period. Nor did he get Manco Capac. I think I may have started with something too difficult. :p

Didn't get Epaminondas.
So I started with him after reading the OP, then got to your post and realized how sad that was, that I defaulted to him, too. :p Let's see if he gets Menandros I...nope. Euthydemos I?...nothing. It almost froze guessing Agamemnon for that guy who is in my avatar (apparently there's no picture yet), lol. Conclusion: sucks at history.

Maybe just enough to win 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' ;) I'll try Alcibiades if I'm bored.

I tried it three times, different times of days. Blank bubble.

He got Richard from the Sword of Truth series.

But I stumped him with Nur from The Thief and the Dogs.

"Your ideal lover". Seriously?
