Turn 280 AD1820 (inherited turn)

I act on Liq's suggestion for Bombay, working a workshop instead
of a mine.

I implement 83% of Liq's recommendation for Techno, hiring 5
merchants rather than 6. I keep both cottages worked, which
will allow them to mature and also allow Techno to grow at
a measurable rate. (5 turns for next growth).

I take Liq's Delhi suggestion and move off a mined grassland/hill for a
farmed floodplain. Delhi is no longer stagnant and will grow
in 5 turns.

I hit enter, and take the plunge.

Turn 281

Bug reports that Kohlapur will grow to size 10 next turn and become
unhappy. Kohlapur is still 1 under its happy cap. Can a 1 pop
growth cause +2 unhappiness?

Our great person is a scientist. He can bulb Sci Method.
I don't.

2 privateers die at the hands of English frigates.

AC pops up to offer Sci Method for Mil Tradition plus 315 gold.
I decline.

Hyd will grow into unhealthiness next turn, and I will let it. I'll
stagnate it after it grows.

Hyd grows into -1 unhealthiness and I stagnate it. It produces
its exec and starts a bank.

Delhi grows to size 14. I tune it for 52 hammers/turn so that
it'll crank out one exec every two turns once Hyd's exec
gets there.

Tenoch grows to size 17 and stagnates. It has -3 health.
Its grocer is due in 2 turns.

Washington makes peace with Gilly and AC. Churchill is still
warring with them. Somehow I thought that Washington was a
vassal of Churchill, but I guess he wasn't.

I stagnate Agra before it grows into unhealthiness. It's still
working max hammers. Mining Inc spreads there this turn, and
the +7 hammers from that cuts West Point down from 6 turns
to 5.

Fascism comes in. We have only two choices for research,
Combustion (4 turns) or Sci Method (2 turns). I set research for
Combustion, but I'll end my set a turn early so that we can
discuss it.

Fascism gives us a GG, who moves to Bombay. He can be
settled or build a military academy there next turn.

Going Forward

Get the worker off the boat. He's on his way back from Kohlapur.

Figure out our tech path. We haven't put any beakers into
Combustion yet, so it's free to switch now.

Figure out what to do with the GG in Bombay (probably settle there).

I think washington broke free because he grow quite a bit during my set, tho i didnt see it happening. He captured 3 cities during my turnset

iwould put the pentagon in Delhi as agra serieusly needs to start building a military when it finishes the west point.

we also need to discuss what to research after sci meth

we can go for biology supercharging our SE with more food and then medicine for sid's sushi

we could also go for physics (is the Gsci still available?) electricity industrialism getting us tanks and marines!

Same deal btw... drop all to pop a sid's exec in hydra and then shuttle it to monty's capital first. It has globe so the amazing about of food isn;t gonna kill it haha. Obviously we cannot spam sid;s as freely as mining inc.

Also, Liq votes national park in VJ in a few turns hahaha. it will have insane happy to take full advantage of sid's .. GP farm number three!!!

I'll post the normal fun filled report after Liq drops comatose for a few hours.


Btw before tanks I say radio... 3 major wonders there for us.

preturn: hehe every turn set the techs drop in turns req hehe. 4 turn combustion haha was 6 last time I was up and that's 4 turns at 115 gold per turn, could knock it down to 3 if wanted if I jacked science up 50% to 100.

tenoch is already 22% merchant, nice. looking like a 1 in 3 chance of a merchant this round with 90+% next round.

In the interest of keeping Agra focused on military, I move pentagon work over to... VJ???? Haha respectable hammers from this place now with mills. 28 turns so overall only loses 2 turns off of 4+22 in agra. Oh and it gets exe'ed next turn!

I see Washington is STILL researching steel?

Bombay indeed gets Patton embedded as the most critical unit to land with 10 + exp are transports (and carriers) so we get the native 7 +1 speed out of them. For next GG, embed him in Bombay as well to nail effortless transports.

So hard to tell what's railed and what isn;t... sigh. I'll run some basic goto loops to make certain then let the workers go auto rail.

HAHHAHA can sign a defensive pact with Churchill, I guess that means the war is over this turn.

West point comes in and soooooooooooo a factory in 4. Health issues incoming!

And finally the peace horns sound from England's war.. judging by the power curve no idea why england isn;t steamrolling Rome.

Patty offloads the first destroyer... I set it up on patrol near the SW fishies just in case anyone thinks about getting frisky with sid's sushi products.

Farms are +1 food now and do not need irrigation... so farm those ugly plains near patty maybe? VJ is close to happy cap so took work off some farms.

medicine in 6 at 50% research +100 ish gold.

After pentagon is done, honestly say go national park and preserve all those forests. That's 9+ free specs from the get go and we can clear out a few of those farms to encourage more. That makes a third major gp farm for us and with sids, will grow to enormous size due to all the happy and health.

Oh and it gives the worker army one last task to do before the dreaded hibernation :lol:

The great merchant is for sid's Sushi in hydra. It's all set up and ready to go. Each instance of this
corp nets us an amazing amount of food... so be very careful where it spreads. Dehli shows 5 fish 6 clams 3 rice 0 crabs... 7 food per instance of the corp... sick. Spam an exe to tenoh first as it has the globe to suck up unhappys and will act as an exe pump just fine.

As an aside... first target is suiman. Just from a corporate view, his core lands are worth
2 iron +1 copper +1 silver for 50% more hammers from mining inc (8 + 4 =12)

5 fishies for (14 +5)/2 food from sids!

Don;t honestly even need tanks for him btw he doesn;t even have gun powder haha so might as well start on his invasion now.

Only town to make transports is bombay... no other town makes transports.

Pump out about 8ish transports promoted to 6+1 speed (by spending first rank on flanking) from bombay and work patty etc on a set of escort destroyers. Destroyers and Battleships do not need heavy starting exp, transports and aircraft carriers do.

Need cannon to bust down walls of the two inner cities and just pown suiman with massed infantry remembering to upgrade all those cr maces.

All but 2 of his cities are port towns so destroyers will be the bulk of the bombard. Abusing the coastal nature of his iisland, instead of loading transports full, aim for balanced town killing/holding forces that move around via the waterways. MG's are still the best city garrison unit btw so mix some of those into maybe a dedicated transport system for clean up.

Revolt to police state from the get go, As this will be a one war wiping of the Ottoman Empire's home island. :hammer:

Pick a single town for the HQ and for every city we capture, do not raze it. Plunk 2 mg's into it once his main stack of trash is gassed and get ready to let it all go. We really do not want to keep these towns for too long so start splitting them off as our colony once they exit revolt and pop borders, gifting the towns their MG garrison. Having a few sid's and mining exe's ready for this is not a bad idea for his capital at least. set the free spec to artist hehe.

Do not let suiman capitulate, we want to completely wipe him off the face of the earth and colonize his island.

Back to the peaceful side hehe...

England and the US are still running merc so no reason to change out of merc ourselves nor even tink about sending exe's over to them.

Health is a huge issue so spam hospitals right after factories when medicine comes in. When we get enough hospitals up, plunk red cross into Bombay.

Next two techs after medicine are...

physics-> Electricity (build Broadway)

From there we have a choice, industrialism is tanks finally and aluminum to help power up mining inc Other choice is radio as it opens three important wonders... Eiffel tower hit singles and the cristo redwtf.

I'd vote radio as we really want those wonders but tanks are tanks are tanks!1!!!. Lets see how the tech is at that point.

oh some mm I noticed hehe.

I'd forgotten that factories add 2 eng specs so places like agra can ditch their priests etc and go eng. Keep in mind Delhi is all about scientists, otherwise can plunk engs all around hehe.

Oh and bombay can take back it's wheat from madras hehe.

Our base economy at 50% is about the same beakers as our specs so we managed to drag our selves out of that hole hahah.

Oh there's a few English ships eyeing our privateer Sw of England proper. I'd run his butt away far away and blockcade suiman haha.

Looks like you guys are rolling along pretty nicely. Still out of town, and the internet connection is VERY SLOW, so I won't be able to play, but a few comments.

I think Mining and Sid's only give 1 hammer/food per 2 resources (depending on map size), so we'll be only getting 7 food from Sid's. Still nothing to sneeze at though.

Washington probably broke away from Churchill because he was a voluntary vassal (and probably tired of all the DoWs on Rome). Not a huge deal. Just means that Rome and Gilga will last a bit longer, lol.

pushing out mass destroyers from bombay first and garrison MG's Agra is good til pentagon comes in btw. Try not to make any transports until we can get 10 exp ships if possible (via a civic change and pentagon). If you do, rename them as tugboats or something hehe.

Alright, I took a short turn because we've had an outbreak of unhappiness and
I wanted someone else (Liq?) to put it right.

We are not at war.
We have just started Physics, and we have a Great Scientist who can
bulb it.
We have founded Sid's but we haven't spread it anywhere yet.

A MG and an exec have just made it to our island city. Remember to take
them off the galleon there.

Turn 299 AD1858 [inherited turn]

Medicine is due in 6.

8 towns still don't have Mining Inc.
We have 1 executive en route. We need 7 more just to spread to
the cities we already have.

13 turns remain on Pentagon in VJ.

Turn 300

Caesar adopts Emancipation, and Agra and Lahore become
-1 unhappy even though they did not grow. I think their
unhappiness from Emancipation increased, but I'm not sure.

Bombay finishes MI exec. He spreads the corp to Madras.
Bombay starts another exec.

An inherited MI exec spreads the corp to Vara.

Agra finishes a MG. It fortifies in Lahore.
Agra starts a 2 turn market to get back to 0 unhappiness.

Lahore queues up a 6 turn market for the same reason, to
start after it finishes its Hindu Mandir next turn.

The Great Merchant reaches Hyderabad, but we need Medicine
before we can found Sid's Sushi. So he waits.

Turn 301

I guess Lahore's market wasn't need for the happiness. It got
+2 happy from the Mandir, and that was enough.

Agra is still at -1, but its market finishes this turn.

Tenoch (stagnant) finishes bank and starts market.

Delhi finishes something and starts Mandir. Bug reports that
it will grow into unhappiness next turn, so I stagnate it.

Bombay is just going to crank out execs until we're completely
spread.

Turn 302

We lose a privateer to a Sumerian frigate.

Random Event: A fire in Agra. I pay 176 gold to keep the factory.

VJ will become both unhappy and unhealthy if it grows next turn.
I stagnate it without sacrificing any hammers towards Pentagon.

We are at 50% research and +162gpt (thanks, Wall St!). 2 turns
to Medicine. Setting research to 100% does not save us a turn,
so I leave it at 50%.

Turn 304

Suleiman (cautious) pops up to demand Chemistry. I tell him
to go soak.

Delhi pops a Great Scientist. He wants to bulb Physics. We will
start that next turn, and I'll use him for the bulb then.

Agra: MG > MG
Delhi: Mandir > exec
Bombay: exec > factory
Patty: factory > aqueduct
Calcutta: Rusmore > factory

Turn 305 AD1870

Medicine comes in. I start Physics, 5 turns, 0/5720.
The GS can contribute 2130 bulbs. (That's up from
2121 bulbs he could give last turn. He's getting better with
age?) I'll save him until we're a turn away from 4600 or so.

Sid's is founded in Hyderabad: +7 food, -8 gold.

Suleiman adopts Emancipation and we have a whole mess
of unhappy towns now, 6 in all. Several unhealthy towns, too.

Vara: ?? > hospital
Agra: MG > MG

Things are messy enough that I decide to let Liq straighten
them out again.

wow yeah that's bad, seems we must go emance until we can nail all those happy wonders. The +2 happy from barracks is nothing compared to the -3 -4 from emance.

finally finished turns but need some sleep before posting turnset..

Didn;t build up much offensive military but managed to land mg pairs in all of the southern towns and towards the east.

Our economy was fine from turn 0 as emance was costing us 6 to 7 unhappys in every town.

Rome gave us a gift;), England got it's vassal back:(, liq put a golden age to good use :beer:, and sid's is done getting corps pumped out with 2x exe's on route to the last towns :borg:.

Oh and Liq went wonderlust.:crazyeye:

wow turns took what 4 hours then the report took uh.. well niece has been trying to kick me off my pc for a few hours now hahah.

Preturn: yeah ok things are ugly hehehe. first off sick cites all need hospitals so Delhi moves off exe for now. 2 turn hospital is +3 to Delhi's -4 health =/

patty has 1 turn on an aqueduct so slot a 4 turn hospital next. etc etc etc lot of hospitals going up.

hehe that's why people are pissed hehe. So well no more caste system as emance is crippling us hahaha... this is ugly. Our need for caste is over anyway as the mid game buildings raise the cap on specs.

Everyone is running merc still so no point for us leaving merc as well.

Revolt to emance and all unhappy is gone.

Agra for example went from 1 angry to 5(!) under happy cap hehe.. need to fix specs... the nice thing is we are now past needing anyone type of great person and well buildings alone lets Delhi keep running max 6(!) scientists.

Physics still in 5 turns at 50% but we lose 3 gold a turn now only +148!!!!!!!!!! zomg?

Tenoch is limited to 2 merchants currently but 3 spies and an engineer is fine. Lost a few gold a turn hiring more spies hehe. About 30 more spy points a turn now

I place hydra on a sids exe in 3 to get the riceball rolling. We suddenly have lots of happy cap so we have room to grow now hehe. By the end of this turnset, All towns will have sids and mining.

We have a ton of spy points to spend on Rome so gonna ship a few spies to AC to steal Communism hehe - how ironic. Manage to sneak in 2 spy builds and a hindu missionary for el galleon!

VJ of all places is 6 turns from a non scientist GP so thinking golden age soon if not an engineer.

Drop the mg and mining exe off in kol.. hehe that town has 5 native hammers to mining inc's 8ish rofl. It's suddenly going to go BOOM with new buildings!

Washington goes free market, not like there's anyone to trade with... boggle.

Lots of crap builds, I slot lots of crap to replace it! With Mining Inc and Sids incoming, all towns can use most types of buildings.

kol gets a major effing boost from mining inc hehe.. 5 -> 13 hammers haha. Courthouse next turn will save 10 gold a turn and the forge slotted afterwards went from 24 to 10 turns.

mad town gets mining inc, one town left...

Only Forgotten Lashore needs mining inc btw so Delhi is pushing out the last exe. Do not spread this corp outside

Put a 2 turn hospital before the factory in Bombay. Health is going to be a major issue period across all towns.

Relatively quiet turn otherwise.

Lots of wonders here to get to.

VJ is set for Broadway in 7 turns, +1 happy base + 4 trade bait
Delhi gets rock and roll in 8 turns, +1 happy base + 4 trade bait.
Bombay is set to build the Eiffel tower in 7 turns, which acts like a free broadcast tower in all towns (even our island paradise!). Broadcast towers are +1 happy per 10% culture slider akin to theaters but also add a happy for each of the hit's we have... so with all 3 wonders building, that's +4 happy in each town. Hollywood is a 3rd happy after mass media for the final +2 happy btw.

Agra is off military to push out the Cristo Redentor.. which acts like the spiritual trait with less wait between changes.. Broken good wonder for non spiritual leaders but we get 2x hammers on it. Nice wonder for us for sure and fast so at least denial to the other civs.

I made one slow transport to replace our long standing kol ferry. When it comes time to spam transports, switch to vassalage and just blitz 10 exp units for the +2 speed promotion.

Sid's has two last auto paths going to tenoch and Lashore (always the last=/), assuming they both take, we need no more execs. During my turn one Sids was actually refused akin to how a religion would.

A ton of infrastructure was finished, a round of hospitals, pentagon/red cross, and Hydra finished all it's cash+ buildings as well.

Safe to start spitting out infantry, airships and destroyers from any town that's free. Wait until Bombay is done with it's wonder to revolt to vassalage and pump out transports.

Agra is going to be finished with wonder, and moving to perma tanks, the same turn industrialism is slated to come in.

Might want to mess with the spy sliders as I bulked up on Rome to snag the tech

When all these hit wonders come in.. try and snag as many hard metals and health resources as you can..

Just looking at England's trades I see sheep corn and banana which would be like 5 health right now, major for us.
