Nice job Corneh. Gave Monty a lashing bad enough for him to turn over archery :lol:. Saves us some time when we eventually get machinery for the X-Bows.

EDIT: Forget 3.17. Seems as it will cause too many conflicts with current SGs.
 
other SG's I'm in are staying 1.13 so I am stuck in it for a bit still.

Ok so tech wise I'm thinking knock out machinery next as we can use a boost to our passive defence while progressing to optics. From there, a fast Civil Service detour for maces and (most importantly) a beefed up Delhi hehe.

Going to chop all those plains border forests in VJ, not to rush the phart so much as for denial. Also going to drag 3 axes with woodsmen and the medic warrior on over to the grassland forest so we do not need to nuke it... akk did a fine job chopping the precious little things so time to give back to the trees eh? lol

Liq, you might consider garrisoning an axe in Calcutta. There is iron down on that peninsula, and the barbs that come at the city might be axes and/or swords. A single warrior might not be enough defense.
 
Liq is up because AkK is away or something. He posted such a few pages back. I'm assuming he'll let us know when he's back by posting (as having him up while he is still away won't do much for us).
 
some quick pointers: when the lib finishes in Bombay assign the priest spec there to a scientist spec. in a few turns the whip anger will be gone in delhi and can grow one pop might be a good idea to do so. also keep an eye on agra the dont seem to like to work the gem hills and i had to mannually assign a pop there every few turns
 
preturn: so thinks looking good, great Lib in 10 with all chops done and VJ is phart in 7 with 2 border plains forests left. Going to redirect a worker to get that going before monty declares on us again.

Want to keep the grassland forest on the border alive so going to plunk down 3 woodsman axes + warrior medic there to deny monty from hiding in it. We already have a woods2 and a woods 1 so gonna promote one more.

Also be nice to get a spy going, looking like bombay for the first.

So bombay nails the library I move work over 2 scientists to work the cottages while keeping stagnent. That's a few beakers. spy in 3 for the win!

Notice we have a chariot that can promote medic so I do.

Uh actually if I chop those border forests, VJ will be stripped... ug why not the border forests copped first..sigh. Get phart down to 5 turns hiring a preist.

Need to boost science to 50% just to shave a turn off so leave it at 8. Go GO specs!

The workers been chain chopping the jungles around vara as if you leave them up they tend to grow back haha vara is gonna need some hammers for sure.

Lots of ways to go for techs I put it on an 10 (unning positive) turn civil but man, so many cheap techs for some much yummie.

A 60% GS/40% GWTF is born tomorrow and bombay's forge is in 2 turns after some marginal mm. be sure to fix it's tiles after the forge comes in.


Monty has at least a 3 fishie start but hold on there's fog there still...

The workers ganged up on vara to get it out of the pits while bombay worked on a bare minimum of worked tiles hehe. Bombay is next for the worker army imo.

Can eather fill in a few more dots or attack monty.

Texico needs to get razed and replanted on top of marble. Teotihuckacan or WTH ever is just a crap town no matter how you look at it, keeeeel it. Monty's capitol is our globe town.. and it has hammers!!!!!

honestly doubt gonna need too many x bows to knock this fool off hehe but what's the rush.. spy is there just to kock down teo's 60% culture but well the trash towns are 50% too. Haven;t seen a single monty catapult BTW.
Twhree main ways to tech.. construction if we are going for monty, compass to get the ball rolling Civil Service for irrigation (some food poor towns and the civic. I'd hold off on the low ball techs like calender as trade bait

Honestly think it's about time we meet the civs in this game.

Only barb I saw was an archer that was playing peekaboo with our borders. We seem to have the barbs scared.

Trying to migrate SG's to 3.17 btw.. just that a version change is not something that can be dictated unilaterally as a few people are in multiple SGs at any given moment.

Go for 3.17 grover. Good to go in that department.

Updating mid play really only matters to the people that are strewn about in other SG's, tourneys, epics etc. Just so much hatred for 3.13 out there haha.

The Highlights

We found Lahore and hook up iron.
We research Compass and Optics and begin two caravels.
We have our first Golden Age, courtesy of a Great Prophet.

Going Forward

Let's finish those caravels and try for the circumnavigation bonus.
There is probably some whipping to be done in some cities--Agra? VJ?
I used the workers primarily for roading and dejunglation, because I wasn't sure whether we wanted workshops or watermills on many tiles. Someone smarter than I should explain that to me. :)

The Details

Turn 164, 1040 AD, Inherited Turn

I take a C1 axe from VJ and start him marching down to the southeastern peninsula to fogbust the area. The lone warrior in Calcutta worries me a bit, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Bombay is at its happy cap and its healthy cap. The pending forge will improve one and worsen the other. So when the forge completes, we'll have to reallocate the worked tiles.

VJ is well below both caps. It's running a scientist and its growth is stagnated. I fire the scientist and work a grassland cottage. Growth in 5 turns.

We haven't put a turn into Civil yet, so I switch to Compass, to be followed by Optics. I want caravels to try for the circumnavigation bonus.
Compass is 6 turns at 0% and 4 turns at 100%. I leave the slider at 0% for now, +16gpt.

The GP can only bulb Meditation. I spend him for our first Golden Age.

Bombay finishes its forge and is below the health cap. After reallocating the workforce there, we're stagnant again and running one scientist.
We can't build crossbows yet because we don't have iron.

Patty finishes its trireme and starts a forge. It, too, is stagnant now.

Calcutta finishes workboat. Starts courthouse.

Chichen Itza is built in a far away land.

Turn 168, 1080 AD

Set research to Optics, 4 turns at 100%.
Our spy reaches the other end of Monty's lands. I will move him to Monty's capital to await further orders.

I set research to Civil Service, 12 turns at 0%, +18gpt.
I end my stint a turn early so that Silver can switch research targets before we invest a turn.

Silver is up.
Corneh is on deck.
 
I got it. Working on some other stuff right now, so I'll wait for a bit of commentary. I personally feel that settling SW would've been better, as it would save us some maintenance costs, but it doesn't really matter.

Not sure a GA was the best use of a GP at this point in the game. Settling would've made more sense over the long run. I'm not a fan of early golden ages because there are not enough developed cities to take advantage of.
