(Yep, I've been digging around again ... :D )

alexman has played a key role in game design from Civ 2 or 3 to Old World.

"The main purpose of the Apolyton University Mod is to challenge the player with a need for deeper strategy, while changing as little as possible. Deeper strategy is accomplished by presenting the player with more non-trivial decisions, and by improving the AI."

It is quite lengthy, containing what I think might be some really good "basic" ideas. Note that all in-post links are inactive.

Nice find Ozy! :) So I think the linked thread in my eyes has no more additional use for actual C3C mods, it is an interesting document about a time long ago, when it seems that Firaxis had a much better contact to the players of its games. And vmxa (at that time vmxa1) was a part of those discussions, too. :)

You've possibly noticed that I have another Work In Progress thread, stemming from this one, underway. :hammer: I hope to have it completely up in a couple of days - and hope to have that one to carry on for a bit. You've done such amazing on CCM (specifically) that I would be truly delighted if you would look over the main body of the postings - once they're all up - and see if any of your "Modding 401" ("101" in US Universities is Introductory," whereas "400+" = Graduate Studies) could be well added to the "curriculum."

I think it possible that integrating any helpful - on an ongoig and interactive basis - might even lead to a thriving, "CFC University" thread? Just beware: we;d almost certainly need to make you the dean :king:
