Part Four: Eastern Expansion
Diary of the Imperial Emperor Fredrick Willem III, His Imperial Majesty:
1809: Today, my victorious army headed to an under-producing iron mine. After seeing all the battle-hardened, experienced regiments march on the mine, performance tripled within a year. The regiments then occupied the mine, with the headquarters becoming my personal palace. Quickly, it filled up with all my favorite things.
1810: I spent the entire year making my Iron Palace the best palace in Europe. My army healed, and over time, will attack Poland-Lithuania. They dared to call my empire puny, and continually pester me about Open Borders. We will get Open Borders, but it will only be AFTER Warsaw has been taken by my victories forces.
1811: We still heal. Still simply building up my forces and my extremely fancy palace.
1812: Still bored, my palace is STILL fancy. Nothing is happening.
1813: Reinforcements arriving constantly. Soon, we shall be ready.
1814: An ENTIRE regiment was doing nothing for an ENTIRE month! It needs reinforcements! Next year, I am FORCING my army to leave the comforts of Berlin and advance to the Polish-Lithuanian Border. They shall give us land. Forcibly.
1815: Finally, the army is on the move again. I just realized how much I missed the hard, rough campground of a tent. We only moved a short distance, as we moved to silver mine just east of the Iron Palace. In Dubrovnik, reports came that a barracks was finished, and I sent orders to start on a grenadier regiment. In Gdynia, another Ship of the Line was finished, and I sent orders to start on another two.
1816: My entire army is ready to attack Warsaw. We are in Gdynia, and next year, Poland-Lithuania SHALL fall. I have also received word that Vienna finishes its grenadier regiment, and starts on a musketman regiment.
1817: Venice has finally finished its barracks. It then started on a musketman, under orders from me. Our diplomats have now reported that we are now at war with Poland-Lithuania. Our force moves into a grassland northwest of Warsaw.
War with Poland-Lithuania
1818: Today, our forces tried to attack Warsaw. We lost one grenadier regiment, but my forces are still in position. With luck, Ill be able to be in Warsaw next year. I have received word that Budapest and Turin both finished their barracks and started on musketman regiment each. Berlin finally finished its recording of the 1st Grenadier Regiment, and started on two more grenadier regiments.
Heroic Epic finished:
Army outside Warsaw:
1819: Warsaw STILL hasnt fallen. I must give credit to the Poles; there plucky. I lost a grenadier regiment again trying to storm the city.
1820: What was originally endearing has now become irritating. Warsaw, to which I lost yet another grenadier, is STILL there. This is becoming irritating.
1821: It looks as though we will take Warsaw next year. I lost a bombard, but it blew a hole in the walls. Next year, the valiant, but evil, city of Warsaw will fall.
1822: I finally took Warsaw! Immediately, Poland-Lithuania surrendered and declared themselves to be my vassals. We lost another grenadier and another bombard taking Warsaw, but it was worth it. Finally, Poland-Lithuania is no longer a problem. Prussia shall now be able to rise in peace, to attain its destiny; to rule Europe
.
Warsaw taken:
Poland-Lithuania Capitulates!
