And just since this thread is getting a lot of traffic - is there any good mobile forum viewer at the moment? I used to use Tapatalk but this forum stopped working on it :(

(Sorry for posting this in what I’m sure is the wrong place, but the forum-related forums get zero traffic :P )

I'm looking forward to the first look videos the most :) I suspect we won't see any activity before the 21st, assuming though that they don't mind it coming before the switch release in November. Would love to be wrong though!

I'd imagine they won't want to step on their own story of the switch release

I just use the mobile version of the website. Works well enough for me. :p

On topic: it occurs to me that even if the mystery of DepotTest is not revealed for the two-year anniversary, we are possibly due for a patch, so I'm increasing my projected chances to 40% that we'll get something official on or before October 23. This could one or more of the following: a patch, a small DLC, a promise of a small DLC, and/or announcement of the next expansion.

Haven't they moved to a model where they only announce major expansions or releases (like the Beyond Earth spin-off) at major game conventions? Is one of those due? If not it seems more likely to be a small DLC.

Remember that week before Rise and Fall was announced we got a teaser of "..come back next week for announcement"

Yes, I can remember that. I didn't expect it to be the expansion and I was pleasantly suprised. I wonder if Firaxis will do the same this time, or would it be too obvious that an expansion will be announced?

Well, they didnt do it with the switch release. So I'd say chances are high that it's exclusive for expansions, if anything... or did they do such announcements for DLCs too? I think they always came with the first look, right? (except SEA DLC maybe)

I wonder, does the testing update include Rise and Fall, or just the civ DLCs? I think an addition of civs to the base game makes sense, it'd be easy to port to the other platforms, might be a nice way to announce new content without stepping on the switch story

The most recent test build includes depots for the base game, all DLC, R&F, and the DepotTest depot. That does not mean they are rolling all of those components into the base game. They are just being tested together as a group.

I would be OK with an announcement of an announcement of the next expansion.

At the moment, Schrödinger's Expansion is simultaneously an expansion, a DLC, a patch, a replacement for Red Shell, and a cure for cancer.

The best part of an announcement of an announcement is it would remain all of the above. Is it too much to hope for that we may get an announcement of an upcoming announcement about an eventual announcement?

Maybe we can at least get Sarah to like one of our posts in a meaningful way. Then we can speculate about the choice of post. :D

Well in that case, I vote she jump in to randomly like this one:

2kqa_c updated this morning for the first time since July. It now involves all the Windows DLC, including the mysterious DepotTest.

Or better yet, this one:

As @Hakan-i Cihan pointed out, many cities in the Near East have been continuously inhabited since 9,000 BC. There most certainly were cities in 4,000 or even 5,000 BC (taking into account that what would be called a city in 4,000 BC would be called a tiny hamlet that might not even have its own name in AD 2018).

If Civ were a religion, what component of the faith would Sarah represent? Prophet? And what about the devs?

Sarah and the Devs are apostles, spreading the grand religion of Civ around the world. I think most of them are Indulgence Vendors. There may be some Translators, too, and Sarah is an Orator. Paradox HQ is a third-tier Holy Site building, producing faith and happiness. And of course, our Great Prophet is Eagle Pursuit :P

The inquisitors probably work at 2K.
