Exactly as the title says

Wow, what a shock

A mediocre mid table team with incredibly acute delusions of greatness.

Well done Newcastle United. You're now officially a joke.

And the disclaimer here is I'm not talking about Newcastle fans, I'm talking about the board and the players. Half arsed football by the players and just stupidity on the part of the board. Newcastle will never win the league, so stop treating your managers like you should

Here here, it's a shame though becuase Sam is a good manger.

They wont be happy until Shearer tries and fails to make them a decent team.

I don't even think it's just the fans. I think it's directors thinking that they're better than the rest and if the team doesn't perform it's the manager's fault (despite the fact that even the most brain dead fatcat would perhaps notice a trend of being cack) . The team is guff, some good players but they just don't seem ot play.

If Newcastle was a computer then the players are the dvorak keyboard and the directors are Windows ME. Think it's time to bin that old system and do a reboot with a Dell.

I suppose the fans would love Shearer to be in charge, all teams have an old player like that, but if they are going to go along that line then they should do what Rangers are doing with Ally McCoist. Get him in as Assistant Manager and get a more experienced man in charge to oversee things. We got Ally and Walter Smith in and we're doing pretty good. Smith takes care of transfers but 9 times out of ten you look at pics from the training pitch or look in the dugout during a game and it's Super Ally shouting at the players.

How much money has been piled into the team over the past 5 or so years ? I had the impression that is / was a sizeable amount, and with the size of following (and thus cashflow) they have, Newcastle ought to be a big team.

Still, I don't think Sam was ever the right man for the job. The Guardian's report yesterday was rather funny...

The Guardian said:
Moreover there were increasing murmurings of dissent from within a dressing room in which Michael Owen was understood to be unhappy at receiving too many balls at throat height, and several other players including Emre Belozoglu and James Milner felt Allardyce's strict game-plans were cramping their creativity.

His squad grew bored during interminable team meetings about how "to stop" opponents, and one brave player once asked: "But what do you want us to do when we're on the ball?"

YAY!

Mullets for the Premiership (Im from Newcastle :p)

Newcastle should really crash and burn now however Keegan will probably be backed financially so they will probably end up doing all right.

He'll do rather well. Not because I rate him as a manager, but because Ashley will do a roman on him and Newcastle will become alot like Man City is at the moment, not quite good enough to break into the top 4 but they've got the money to give it a shot

I am quite pleased with Newcastle's progress after thy sacked him, it really was worth it :crazyeye:

Still can't see them going down as they will eventually win a game like Reading did this weekend.

Newcastle seemed quite unlucky against Blackburn.

The thing that will save them is the hopelessness of two of the teams below them - Derby and Fulham.

Kev has today declared that he cant guarentee they wont go down. Hmm - as prophecies go, thats not saying much.

"The board is 100% behind Kevin, and there is no doubt or worry that he will walk away," Mort (Newcastle Chairman) told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.

It can't be good getting the chairman's vote of confidence all ready. If they get beat in the Reading game I would favour them to go down.

And Keegan has now been sacked.

I love looking over threads like this when this sort of news happens...

It all went downhill when Mort left IMO.

Even Chris Mort, Mike Ashley's best friend couldn't stand the way the fat f*ck was running the club, that's when he decided to get his little casino friends in and screw over the most geniune, honourable man in football.

Just wait and see what happens in the city in the coming weeks.
