Alternate Timeline Building Experiment, v1.0

Wow, its been 2 years since the last post. I came across this site, it looks awesome. Making your own civilization. I would name a tribe i came up with, but it looks like there's no room left in the world XD.

If there's ANY left at all, you don't think you could squeeze mine into it could you? If not then no problem :D I just find it interesting.

Welcome to NESing :)

This "world" is long since dead.. or at least in a very deep sleep. If you check into some of the newer threads, there might be a game that is currently live that might also interest you?

Out of interest, how did you come across this thread and website?

Hey there Cheese! This is one project among many in the NESing subforum! I do invite you to check them out!

Aww, its a shame that its dead, i was very interested in the different factions and how they evolved. If it is dead (or in a deep sleep) someone has GOT to start another one. I would really like to be apart of it :D

As to how i came across this place, I actually came across it with no connection to this game (That I didn't even know existed) It looks interesting too. I was actually trying to browse for a picture of the world. Instead I found one of the maps on here, which lead me to the site.

Someone please start another world XD

There are ton's of different 'projects' and worlds on this forum. Off the top of my head, there is a World War 2 one going on, and several fantasy games. I myself am starting a relatively easy 'fresh-start' style NES within the next week.

Sounds great :D Though I don't really know my way round at all, I don't even know anything about the game. If I could have a few pointers that would be awesome :)

Thank you for all being so friendly.

It's always nice to have new people show interest. Pointers and the like are generally game or genre specific. What may be true for the WW2 NES could be very much different for the fantasy one. I recommend finding a game you'd like to try, and then branch from there.

Well, there are lots of different projects- this one was very much a unique creation of Daftpanzer. NESes range from board games to collaborative world-building stories, and they're set across a huge variety of settings- some of them are single-character affairs more in line with tabletop roleplaying games, while others are nation simulators, and others all the way over to board games. :)

I myself run a science fiction story NES.

And if you're looking for something simpler, IOTs can be considered NESlites. Perhaps as a gateway drug? If I may, I recommend mine for being very simple.

So that we can leave this venerable thread be, I'd recommend bringing further discussion to While We Wait, the general NESer hangout and a good place to get advice and information about NESes in general.

Wow, this place sounds great. Though as I said before, I don't know where to begin :D Do I have to buy a game, and if so where from? Before this I would need to see the different types of games, but I haven't a clue where to look. I'm very interested, if anyone has anywhere I can start from, or a link to somewhere explaining these games in more detail, I would be very happy. :)

@TheCheeseFood, some find it annoying to bump these old threads, but I've just enjoyed reading through some of my old work, so thanks :) Can't believe its been three years since the last 'update'. EDIT: you don't have to pay anything here :) the software consists of the forum, word processor and (optionally) a paint package.

Actually, I wonder if anyone would want to add another modern-age era to this? Space age and maybe nuclear war? Seems like most of the NESers are still around. I know I have outstanding commitments already :o but I could draw up a list of who-influences-what and maybe some stats for the top economies and militaries...

I'd be cool with leading the Zuls into the modern era. If it's a full-out NES, then I might not have enough time for it, though.

Hey :D Great to see a old place being brought back to life. If its not much bother, you couldn't find a way for me to squeeze any of my ideas into this 'Other Era'? Though by looking at your other maps, there dosent seem to be any room XD

It just looks so interesting. Are there any rules I need to follow?

@mythmonster, definately not a full NES! Just another era to add on here...

@TheCheeseFood, yep, this world is already packed full of cultures that have grown and evolved over centuries. But some players are gone from the forum now, so you could take charge of an existing culture/group for the final era. With regards to rules, you should be able to see how this one works from the first few pages. Most other NESes here have more rules and stats.

Yey :D That's brilliant. IL go read up previous era's now. IL keep an eye out to see what your ideas will be if you do decide to create another era, however you may need to point out which players have gone and left suitable cultures behind. :)

Was I involved in this? I forget?!

I'm sure you were in this briefly, near the beginning. I don't remember though!

I didn't update the influences list after the last update, but I did after era #18, its near the end of this post.
