Alternate Timeline Building Experiment, v1.0

Just give me a few days and I'll have one up.

Hey wait that sounds like quite a job!

Since I already have all the maps in one folder, and I now have a high-speed connection, I feel I should do it myself, at some point!

Its not hard actually, getting all the maps together is actually the most time consuming, but after that, I can get the whole thing done in under 30 minutes.:)

Oh, I finally remember what DaftNES 2 was! I remember reading the updates... and being very sad when the Thulean League fell apart :(.

But anyway, Daft, are you for sure doing another update rather than making this into DaftNES 3? If so, would you like orders? I have somewhat of an idea of what I'd like the Olan to do...

OK I've decided I need to re-prioritise my stuffs, again, which means I'm content to leave this as it is for 'a while'. But, please do feel free to post any ideas you have - as usual just a few words would be great, and then I could start working on it slowly.

@Lord Iggy, this was the inspiration for my previous comment!

Return - The people of Civetis would probably prefer to write new literature, although this is pretty random; but the amount of people proud of their ancient heritage become more numerous.

I know this is random. But I want to show that I cared about this project. So here's my input.

My darling Amestris... reduced to a Poland. Ah, so.

Sorry for bumping this, but here's the animated map I promised to do. Photobuck reduced it to this size to get it under 1 MB. Normally its 2.2 MB.:)

Awesome!!!111one! :D

Thanks Matt! I imagine that took quite a lot of work...

I don't suppose you could put the 2.2MB version in a .zip file and attach that to a post? Civfanatics allows zip attachments up to 10 meg in size IIRC.

Awesome stuff Matt! Pity it's too small to read anything.

Sadly.:(

I don't know if CFC allows 10 Megs, for some reason half a meg max comes to mind. I don't really know.

Okies lets have a look... Go to manage attachments and 500 kb is for images on their own. But archives including .zip are allowed up to 10.00 MB, and savegames are 2.00 MB. It would be a shame not to see your work in its full glory :)

I was thinking about Gifs then, which reminds me, I never finished the NEB1 animated map. Anyways, I zipped the map and put it on the same post with the other map. Enjoy!:)

Thanks again :)

This reminds me that windows picture viewer doesn't display animation in GIFs. That is loserness. Firefox is cool tho.

BTW here is an extremely lazy edit of Matt0088's work. Its the same but runs 5x faster, if anyone wants that option:

I have to say, I found this quite by accident while looking for Axis & Allies maps, if you can believe it. I love the Civ games, so it intrigued me. I spent much of today reading through this thread, and I just wanted to say that I really, really liked it! I've always been interested in history, and fascinated by different concepts of alternate history (loved Years of Rice and Salt), and so all of this was really quite up my alley. I'm going to browse some other NES threads, and maybe even try to join one, but if you do anything like this one again, I'd really love to know! Alternate Earth history is just so... fun!

Hey thanks Bil :D I'm honoured!

I'm definately an amateur when it comes to alt hist. Especially when compared to others on this forum. If I was doing this again, I'd change a lot of things. It was a useful exercise in that respect.

I liked the axis and allies computer game version, check out my new board game style NES :)
