This is going to be my second SG and I so far got the hang of it. In this game I was thinking of taking a nice challenge at Random Settings .

These are the settings;

Random Civ
Emperor
Large
Random Climate, Age, Temp., Water and Land Mass
No Barbs
All Victory Conditions Allowed
PTW v1.21

This game will have 3 open slots and maybe 1 more.
The first 2 player that sign will allow me to start the game.

There is no order of play!
When one person finished his turn the next one that plays has to post "Got It".

Though no one can play 2 times in a row.

Ok, I played the first 20 turns, the next player plays 15 and everyother player is 15 too untill 0BC.

1. We got the Ottomans!!!!!!! I settled were we landed getting 5BG. Started on Pottery at max. Began Warrior at Istan.

2. Worker began road to get the Pottery gowing faster.

3. ...

4. Road done and Pottery due in 14 turns. Started mine.

5. ...

6. Istan; Warrior> Warrior (moved west).

7. Mine is done and moved to another BG.

8. ...

9. Started mine on the other BG.

10. Istan; Warrior> Warrior (moved east).

12. Istan. grew. Moved lux. to 10%.

13. Mine is done and started road.

14. Istan.; Warrior> Barracks (for pre-build Granary) fortified warrior.

15. Road is done and moved to another BG. Popped a goodie hut and it gave me a warrior!!!!!

16. We are loosing 1gpt :(.

17. ...

18. We discovered the science of pot making!!!!!!! I started IW at min. making 4gpt. Changed the Barracks to Granary.

19. Popped another goodie hut and got 25g, I felt lucky and popped another and it gave me barbs :(.

20. Concript warrior killed by barbs. My reg. is there to kill the rest though. There are some tremendously beautiful terrain below Istan so the next ruler better find out how to settle on them!

0 turn - 3100 B.C. There certainly are lots of fertile grounds out there! I'll try to put a dot-map up at the end of my turns. I'm not used to starting a min science gambit this early on - usually I get a least a couple techs early while they are cheap, but by no means does the fact that I do it make it right! We were running 10% luxuries, but we didn't need to be - I put them back down to zero.

Turn 1 - 3050 B.C. The remaining barbarian warrior dies attacking our remaining warrior out on the Eastern frontier. Other than that, very little of note!

Turn 2 - 3000 B.C. Our city grows to size 3 just as the third bonus grassland is finished being improved. We do need to start up the luxury rate now, however. I move the worker towards the fourth bonus grassland.

Turn 3 - 2950 B.C. Our Eastern warrior spies a hut.

Turn 4 - 2900 B.C. Granary almost done! Fourth mine started, and more cows are spotted in the south.

BT - Granary->Speaman (to escort our first settler). I'd also like to let the city grow once more before finishing settler to increase income.

Turn 5 - 2850 B.C. Nothing really.

Turn 6 - 2800 B.C. Pop the hut and get 25 gold - we have quite a large treasury. I just hope we meet some people soon or this min science gambit is really really going to hurt us. I generally do my own research until I actually meet some other civs - if we are isolated we're going to be in trouble!

Turn 7 - 2750 B.C. Mine finished, starting to build a road south to facilitate settler movement. There seems to be almost no barbarians.

BT - Spearman -> Settler. Looks like the spear wasn't necessary as I think we have no barbs, but oh well.

Turn 8 - 2710 B.C. I can turn down the lux tax while our spearman is residing in the capitol. Our settler is due in 5 turns, and we will grow in 4, so that should work out well. I'd rather oscillate between 5 and 3, but getting this first one out and down to the high food area seems important - then we can use that high food city to kick out more settlers.

Turn 9- 2670 B.C. The good land extends pretty much forever south.

Turn 10 - 2630 B.C. Not much.

Turn 11 - 2590 B.C. So alone...

Turn 12 - 2550 B.C. That was interesting! Before the turn ended, I had one turn left to grow and two left on the settler, but the settler was produced anyway! I guess in the between turn cycle the growth is taken into account before the production cycle, because the settler completed this turn! Better for us, as the settler is one turn early, and I didn't have to increase the lux tax. I move the Settler/Spear pair south and start another spear - no point in starting another settler yet unless we want to go to size one. Still no contact, with anyone.

Turn 13 - 2510 B.C. Settler and Spear move into position. I'm going to settle a little close to the capitol, pulling in one game with no expansion, another upon expansion, and 3 bonus grass tiles. I'll be on a river too. There will be slight overlap with the capitol, but that should be just fine. I'm leaving the wheat in the south for the next settler.

Turn 14 - 2470 B.C. Edrine founded! And thats pretty much all there is. Still no contacts. Min science gambit is tough - we are going to be way behind if/when we do find someone else. Being isolated like this makes for an interesting game!

Turn 15 - 2430 B.C. I spy an Arabian scout! They are up three techs, but it looks like we could buy one. I'll leave that to the next ruler to do before the next turns. I left both the build orders on spearman to be altered by the next player. Good luck! (I'll post the savegame and dotmap soon).

I didn't have time to do an extensive dotmap, but here is where I think the next two cities should be placed. We should probably run a scout out to the West to confirm the coastline. Also note that I saved this one turn before the end of my round - on the next turn the southern warrior met the scout.

Here is the savegame!

Hmmm, sorry, I'll have to pull out. I currently only have v1.14. I was planning on updating following last week's announcement on the civfanatics homepage, but it appears that the Euro upgrade patch is not yet out, so "no can do".... I'll jump back in once I've patched if that's okay...

Apologies.

Looks like I might be back in... Apparently the UK patch is on the Atari site now... I'll have to download tonight!
