Ambrox Stone Age Units

So maybe something eurasian, similar clothing like the civ4 asian scouts'.

The Chuggis worker is unattainable for my limited capacity. Test the attached texture over my scythian worker, if I understand what you need. More than that I'm not able to do.

Ah, it's okay. At least I got a unique warrior. ;)

As scheduled, I've just uploaded a 24 scouts package.

great work again :) - i think your are the only nifskope modeler out here, should be quite easy for you to make the step to use also Blender for this (if you can model in nifskope you should be able to do this with any 3d program)

Lovely stuff, Mr Ambrox62, I've already rolled out some of your creations. Lovely! Flavourmost, as PE would say.

Thanks to everyone. I'm glad to see my work appreciated. Time after time I feel myself more confident, and I hope to do better in the next units.
My concern was that I had to work on quantity instead of quality, to produce batch of units sharing the same textures. My goal is finishing the project, then giving a better look and variety to each civ.

I gave a look at blender but I quit soon because it isn't intuitive. I'm too lazy to read manuals. I prefer a brief tutorial as you wrote on nifscope.
I have a dream, someone explaining how to import a unit A into blender and remove the head, then import a unit B and remove the body, then join body A with head B to obtain a new unit A1 and export it into a nif. :D:D:D

Even I, with my extremely limited Blender knowledge, can do this.

Step 1: Import Unit A.
Step 2: Select Unit A, then use Edit mode and select the Head node.
Step 3: Pres control E, choose the first option, then press control P to remove the head.
Step 4: Export the head.
Step 5: Delete the Head's NiSkinInstance in NifScope.
Step 6: Restart Blender (to get rid of the stuff still in there) and Import the Head and Unit B.
Step 7: Repeat Steps 2/3 for unit B, but delete the head afterwards.
Step 8. Select the Head in Obj mode and use Control-A to select all the faces.
Step 9: Join the Head with Unit B after moving the Head into position and pressing Control-J
Step 10: Go to edit mode and assign the Head to the Head node.
Step 11: Export.

Following mechaerik steps I obtained the attached unit, but it is a 2 meshes unit (head and body), not a single mesh as I wish and how it is in blender.

nothing that really serious, but as i had this the first time i also did´t saw the reason, the 'problem' is that you new mesh has two materials in Blender and every material (perhaps also with two different textures) part will be exported as individual mesh. so you must also do (on solution):

1. remove all exitsting materials
2. add new material
3. adjust the uv if necessary (if the head had a different position on the texture - also good to see gow it looks)
3a. go to UV
3b. load texture (the merged one textures)
3c. select all face in the 3D view to see the general UV layout
3 d. only select head vertices and move them on the UV]
4. add textures to the material (like described in C.Rolands tutorial)
5. export

Thanks Mecha & Coyote !!! :goodjob:
With your help I posed "another brick in the wall" :)

Thanks. It's simply an attempt to explore blender's universe and to make something usefull for me at the same time.
I am planning my next Bronze Age units, and I need 3 meshes for a early spearman (3000-2000 BC). The firaxis is a classical age unit (500-400 BC) and is really impossible to edit its armored head with nifscope!!!
However blender is a really complicated tool, with tons of options and buttons that I don't understand. The road is far long yet...

simply ignore all this nice function unless you really need them, as long you can all the things you want, it´s all fine - i do nothing else ;)

@The_J
I've followed your tip ;)
No plan for a stone age mod. I'm working on a official new patch for TAM mod, with ETA next july.

@The_Capo and Mechaerik
I've seen some phoenician civs somewhere on this forum. Try with "search" function.
And I would be really surprise to realize that Strategyonly didn't make a phoenician set. Search through his huge download DB.

The Capo actually made a phonecia civ for Diplomacy, but i think he wants flavored units for it.
