Vet knight smacks barb.

The leader is left in Entremont waiting for us to capture a city so we could get an army.

IBT: German longbow is killed when attacking a knight n a hill.

1280AD [5]: :sleep:

1285AD [6]: Knight kills longbow, -3hp, reveals another one will propably be killed IBT..

We reclaim the incense site. Colony will be rebuilt next turn.

IBT: Lugdunum cannon > cannon.

1290AD [7]: Rebuild the colony and switch luxtax down to 10%.

Kills a German longbow.

IBT: Arab troops dance foxtrot around the place...

1295AD [8]: Move troops ready for an attack against a German town, Almarikh. Attack in 2.

IBT: Renew peace with Hannibal.

1300AD [9]: Move a small SoD of knights ready to attack Almarikh.

IBT: Arabs move troops into our area...

Alesia knight > knight.

1305AD [10]: Battle for Almarikh:
Vet knight retreats from vet spear.
Vet knight kills vet spear.
Elite knight kills 2-hp spear & takes the city.

Leader buils an army.

And wait for cavs to put into the army. They'll be a lot more effective. Knights age is over almost. The only ones we can really fight ith them are the Germans and the Zulu.
 
Pre-flight 1305 AD - AAAAAAHHH! We have four cities!!! I immediately abandon that blot to the East.

Militarily we’re not in great shape. 12 knights, 9 muskets, 6 cannon. We can set up two sets of knights and work our way down each side of the peninsula. We have a knight guarding our incense colony. Wake up a musket from Lugdunum and send him east.

Wake up four healthy knight in the ruins of the city I just abandoned and send them towards Hovd. We can’t attack yet. Germany doesn’t have iron or horses.

Arabia is in the Industrial Age. The rest of the world isn’t significantly ahead of us.

Why economics? We’re not going to get Smith’s. This tech does virtually nothing for us. There are some optional techs we’ll want like Mil tradition, but we should be going to required techs.

IBT – Retreat from a German LB. Hannibal wants to talk. Gems for furs straight up. I don’t think so.

1. 1310 AD – Lose a knight sacking Hovd. Our map is worthless. Plan on saving money to steal Mil Tradition. I don’t feel like giving Abu all that money.

IBT – Watch Abu kill a barb camp for 25G.

2. 1315 AD – Healing.
IBT – Carthage may be setting up for a sneak attack.
3. 1320 AD – Setting up for Bonn.
IBT - Economics completes. Start Astronomy.
Alesia: Knight=> knight
4. 1325 AD – Kill three wandering LB, lose a knight.
IBT – The AI is filling in as fast as we can sack cities. Two more cities are founded.
Entremont: knight=> knight
Lugdunum: cannon=> cannon
5. 1330 AD - Kill two more wandering LB. Cologne is sacked at the cost of a knight.
IBT – Carthage a city and AI takes our spice colony. Monty wants to trade Music theory for Metallurgy. Hit the road!

6. 1335 AD – Lose a knight killing two more LB.
IBT – German LB is dropped off by Entremont.
7. 1340 AD - Kill a wandering German spear. Oh great. The Arab city by our incense expanded also. So we lost two luxes. No wonder the people of Alesia are ticked off. Move a knight to get the LB by Entremont.
IBT – Lose a knight on a mountain outside Hannover. The LB pillaged a tile outside Entremont.

8. 1345 AD – Knight dispatches pillaging LB.
@ Hannover – Retreat a knight attacking the defending spear.
@ Bonn – Kill the defending pike, but lose to a spear.
Set up for Munich.

Abe is now in his Industrial Age duds.

IBT – Major barb uprising. Looks like a Zulu sneak attack is coming on.

9. 1350 AD – Bonn is sacked. Munich is sacked.
IBT – Zulu run away. Arab cavs make short work of the stack of barb horses.

10. 1355 AD – Kill a German LB. Normally I wouldn’t steal on the last turn, but I’ve been waiting for this one all turn. Cable our embassy in Mecca and instruct them to execute a safe steal. Cross my fingers say a prayer to the RNG god, and ….

After Action: There is a force headed towards Hannover. Getting reinforcements to Germany will starting getting difficult, however, there are only seven cities and our knights should be able to take the remainder with intervals for healing.

I think our next project is to save our cash to generate a full dogpile on Arabia. The Arabs are going to run away with this very soon. We should do that after Germany is gone.

Flight Check: Wow, things sure look umm…… different. Where to start…. Military check: 9 muskets, 10 knights, 8 cannons & an army. Ouch!

We’re only at war with Germany, and have 0 active deals with anyone.
All our troops need healed, we are down the rest of the techs in the Age, and there’s no more neutral territory.

I tend to agree with bugs though, we’re going to have to get Abu in check soon or we won’t have a shot of bringing him down later. The biggest problem with that is there’s like 20+ Arab Cavs in/to the east of us.

MM Entremont to prevent starvation, still get Cav in 2.
Switch Alesia from Cav to temple, we’ve got the lux at 10% and it still needs a clown, we’ve got to change that.

Way to go on the steal bugs! Not only did you get us a great tech, but one Abu had a monopoly on.

Sell it to America for Astronomy, 17g, & 5gpt. Abe needs a couple turns of building Cavs before we drag his 5 city empire into a war with the Arabs.
Germany doesn’t have physics, which means we won’t get anything from him so might as well just take him out.
In that case I trade Carthage our furs & MT for Physics, Gems, & 48g.

Switch Alesia back to Cav.

We have a Kn killed and another retreats to longbows.

T1-(1360) Kill off a longbow.

T4-(1375) Kill off a couple Lbs, might be able to march on a city in a couple turns.

T7-(1390) Raze Nuremburg. At this point I’m trying to beat the Arabs to razing the cities so they don’t take them. It isn’t easy with 2 Cavs, 2 Knights & a musket.

T8-(1395) Raze Heidleburg.

IT Leptis Magna(Arab) completes Newton’s.

T9-(1400) Lose a Knight attacking a Lb. Nice.
IT Nada

T10-(1405) Kill off about 4 more Lbs.
I’ve nearly completed a road stretching down to Germany that doesn’t pass through anyones land. I’ve also got workers strung along the road so no one can use it & block us, and heading into German land so the Arabs can’t get through.

Yeah, we're definitely not major players in the world powers any more, but we can definitely still make waves. And that cav army should be a tidal wave against Germany's spears & longbows.

Keep Abu from getting any German cities, especially any wonder cities. I still can't believe that Otto built Shakespeare's during a war he is severely losing.
 
That's the AI... in AG9 Greece had some 3 cities and built wonders almost all the time... easy to kill them.

I think Bede you could try and bribe the world against Abu, if we have the money. He is way too powerful. Dunno how possible that is, though...
