Ank07 - Plain Deity

Got it.

Play tonight.

It is now 900AD and the Arabs are still alive, though smaller. The clever plan outlined in a previous post was clever, perhaps, but not effective. The Egyptians overran our redoubts at Copenhagen and Shiraz with waves of cavalry, our cities descended to disorder, and Mecca and Damascus were lost to Egyptian cavalry coming out of China. That was only the first two turns or so. Egypt finally agreed to talk on turn 5, demanded Baghdad for peace and I capitulated as it would be hers soon anyway.

The end of the war restored prosperity, but we have hardly any military left, and no workers.

In 890 Mecca flipped back to us!

In 900 I rushed a settler out of Karasjok to reclaim the horses between Baghdad and Copenhagen, if the next better player feels like culturally challenging the Egyptians. Any town with surplus gold is building a library and I traded Spain Chemistry for Education and some small change so we should probably segue right on into universities, then turn on the bunsen burners towards the IA. Egyptian infantry were showing on our borders at the end of the war. Egypt is at war with the Turks and Spanish and Americans now. Only the Americans appear to be any threat to Cleopatra, but at least she will be busy in her east.

It is probably time for a little cultural warfare, as there are lots of gaps in Egypt's new western territories that we could exploit.

Victory condition ideas: How about survival?

Hey, I wanted to let you guys know that it's been an absolute blast playing with everyone, and I've certainly learned a lot about Diety level games (like not being such a cheap-ass  ), but RL is really starting to kick my butt right now. The rest of this week is going to be packed preparing for this big move, 4th of July with family, and getting my portfolio together for a potential job up in Fairbanks. Regardless of the job, I'm moving up there for teh summer (at least); I'll be staying at a friend's place at first and she says there won't have room for my computer.

Sorry I wasn't able to finish this one out. :( I really hate quitting halfway throught something, but when and if I have internet access I'll check in and add an occasional banter to the forum.

It's been fun.

I keep on forgeting about this game. I will try to play later.
