Anno Domini: Gathering Storm edition

FYI:

I'm playing on a Pangaea small map as Trajan - I think I am on Emperor difficulty (no 6). Turn 287.

The opponents are rather crowded and are:

Pericles
Alexander
Ptolemy Soter
Cyrus
Arminius
Tomyris
Dido
Leonidas (now wiped out by Athens)
Boudocca (now wiped out by Macedonia)
Lars Porsena (wiped out by Rome - he started it so serves him right)

I hope that helps you track down any bugs.

Game 1: CTD on turn end, turn 384, huge pangea, marathon.
Played as Epaminondas. Other AI: Cyrus, Ur-Nammu, Tomyris, Taharqa, Tigranes, Adrastus, Lars Porsena, Ati, Eurydice, Enheduanna, Ashrubanipal, Leonidas, Qin Shi, Amhose Neferati, Djalla, Gartimandua, Boudica.

Game 2: CTD on turn end, turn 435, huge pangea, marathon.
Played as Epaminondas. Other AI: Gorgo, Ur-Nammu, Pericles, Philip II, Dido of Pheonicia, Apophis, Zenobia, Dido of Carthage, Gamilat, Commodus, Tiridates III, Lars Porsena, Ati, Gartimandua.

My only two games right now.

Thanks, marquiswu. Apologies that it did crash. Interesting that Cartimandua is in both games, the extra governor has been mentioned as a potential issue elsewhere.

Hello there, Rob.

This is Alqamar Alaswad from the Steam Anno Domini forums. My current game always crashes when I press the Next Turn button. I'm playing Egypt with Hatshepsut as a leader. I have uploaded the logs and the savegame file.

Started three times today, but when I got to Civic: Chiefdom, policy cards wouldn't stick. Any help? I'd need to review how to collect "logs" for you.

Odd, the same has happened to me, playing as Armenia and Akkad. However, it didn't happen in my previous two games, with Thebes (Epaminondas) and Egypt (Hatshepsut).

This is very strange...

It also happens to me playing as the Iceni.

Does anyone have any idea about what is happening?

While Rob is absent from the Forums (busy with RealLifeTM, if I remember correctly) maybe it would be a good exercise to look for the cause of this problem.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem. there is a mod that change the interface for policy cards. Perhaps, if that mod can be used with AD, it could work.

The good news is that I'm back and working on the policy screen issues. As a workaround, if you delete GovernmentScreen.lua and GovernmentScreen.xml, which can both be found in Lua/UI/Overrides, it will let you play the game properly, selecting and de-selecting policies. The only issue you'll find is a cosmetic one - on the government screens, not all the policies will be coloured as they are in Anno Domini and not all the policy types will be labelled correctly. This is what I now need to re-write in those files.

Thank-you. There's a new version posted that fixes the policy issue - though strangely, there's now an issue with modded government pictures, which is purely cosmetic. Additionally, the mod is now compatible with YnAMP. SeelingCat kindly helped with the co-ordinates with the various maps - and we have included City-States' TSLs. There's also an update to Sukritact's civ selection screen to upgrade it to Gathering Storm.

Wow everything sounds good. I must say you are creating an amazing mod :)

Hi there!

First of all, LOVE the mod. Always been a fan of the first three eras from Civ VI but nothing past that.

I do have a couple of potential bugs to report. I do not know how to get logs on Mac, and Googling turns up nothing.

1. I am at ~220 turns, over 2,000 Faith, but cannot recruit a Great Prophet. There are 5 of 6 religions founded. I also do not see Great Prophet in the Great People panel.

2. Selecting 'Resume Game' results in a crash, but selecting 'Load Game' does not (this is a new bug; didn't happen pre-turn 200).

And, questions:
1. Are there fewer Inspirations and Eurekas?
2. Housing and Amenities are difficult to manage, which it appears you expected, considering the addition of Palace buildings.

Thanks for your work!

Thanks uRabbit (and also thanks for the comments Malgoffen and ShiroToraRyu). Thanks for the bug reports, I haven't heard anyone mention either of those. It's a bit difficult to see exactly what's going on without the logs, but I can only assume in issue one that because I've deleted some Great People due to them utilising deleted items (causing a crash), then the game has run out of GPs and I need to add more. Incidentally what I mean by them utilising deleted items is, for example, a Great Person giving an upgrade to PIkemen or giving the Chemistry tech automatically. With the resume game issue I'm assuming it's because it's crashed, therefore resuming that crash situation will not work?

To answer your questions, yes there are fewer Inspirations and Eurekas. These will come back - again due to deleting items, I cannot have Inspirations and Eurekas that refer to them. I'm trying to create Anno Domini in such a way (following what's known as an Agile methodology) where you get a playable version asap which might not have all the bells and whistles and then add them as development time progresses - otherwise there would be no Anno Domini right now. I have made it a little more difficult with respect to Housing and Amenities but to make it so that it's a slower growth to match the timeframe, at least in the early days.
