Anno Domini II discussion thread

Imhotep for the Egyptians ??? :crazyeye: Oh ,dude ! :nono:

Rob is allowed to use any leader he wants. He could have Dan Quayle for Egypt, and you'd just have to deal.

Rob is awesome.

I shall be watching with anticipation.

I am particularly happy to see Punt on the list. I remember hours spent as a kid gazing at a reconstruction of the relif on the walls of Hatshepsut's tomb.

Imhotep for the Egyptians ??? :crazyeye: Oh ,dude ! :nono:

Well Imhotep is the only Egyptian to have the honour of being played by Boris Karloff...

It seems Leonidas had a very good dentist. :)

Progress is steady. I'm working around the clock on the project until next Thursday, when I'm due back at work. Hopefully a lot will be done by then. I don't want to promise a working beta uploaded by then, but you never know...;)

The first era's techs are all in; there's about three more to pop in to complete era two. Slowly, but surely, some buildings are being added, but not too many units as yet. Gameplay proves that whilst the mod is okay, I'm still a terrible player!!

What I am being careful to do is to add a correct civilopedia entry (including info text on the building or whatever) as I go along. Whilst it does make each individual addition more laborious, it does complete it, meaning I don't have to go back and check everything or work out if the civilopedia is right or not. I do need to have an afternoon going through the civilopedia in terms of the general information that is in there (oh, joy !!) There are virtually no unique techs at the moment and most civs are pretty much generic...but once I have the full tech structure in place, I can tweak things then. It is panning out to be a three-era mod with the fourth era labelled "Dark Ages" - so it gives room for expansion later on. Bring on the Anglo-Saxons, Goths, Huns, Norse et al!! However, that will be a seperate scenario....and that won't necessarily have the first couple of eras of Anno Domini II...

The leaderheads are coming on nicely and I hope will be appreciated as a new influx of "ancient heads" usable for other mods. The one I've been doing this morning is a new version of Queen Teuta. This version is now in the beta version of the mod!

I absolutely love the new CoMM3 Complete Interface Graphics and they're perfect for the mod.

Here's an updated version of Boudicca:

Perhaps I'll make her a little older.

Now going on my work Christmas lunch...back to the Civ work later :D!!

I don't like Teuta's eyes, there's something like a sheen over them. As if someone was pointing a flashlight at her.

I did leave a sparkle in Teuta's eyes on purpose! I don't mind any comments about the leaderheads, good or constructive, but please understand that a lot of them (including Teuta) are actually completed. With the greatest of respect, I'm not planning to go back and change any that I feel are good enough to be in the mod, especially as they do take a while to sort out and there's lots of other things to do with the mechanics of the mod that take precedence. However, thanks for the comments and I do listen to them and take them into consideration when I do the next leaderhead.

Sure, take it as constructive criticism *hides voodoo doll with Rob's face on it*

DREADFUL NEWS

My new PC, which I've been developing the mod on has had a hard drive failure!! It's only two months old and has all the new stuff on. Naturally, I'm devastated, especially after a long eight days of hard work...which is all on the drive.

Not best pleased, to say the least.
