annoying crashes

Hi there!

I finally joined the forum section becouse i had annoying proeblems with my new computer:

I have downloaded several mods, but all of them crashes somewhere. I really like rise of mankind mod but it alwas crashes somewhere 1950's. Crash just throw u to desktop and it only sais civ 4 has stopped working. When i go to controlpanel and read failureraports it sais gamecore has crashed (ill add that report later).

I'll try to load savegame and it does it again. I'll try to load savegame from 10 round back. Change my civ's, declear war with any 1, no new techs..so nothing is going to change in 10 turns..but it crash again in same round again and again. I'll never going to get over that round so my game is ruined.

This same bug i got in 3 different games so now i dont even want so start new one.
It also makes same in nexwar (build in) so it couldnt be just usermods fault.

I started basic civ4 game yeasterday to see if same prob is in basic game.

civ 4 is patched, BTS is fully patched and all mods got latest patches. All hardwares drivers has been patched. So it is't driver/patch failure.

So if any 1 can help me i'll appreciate it alot.

What you might want to do is clean the disc very gently with a moist soft cloth, the kind you would use to clean glasses. If that doesn't work, close some unused applications, uninstall some unused programs. Sometimes you just don't have enough space on your computer. Civ is a pretty big program after all.

I only play basic, but the same problem occurs to me, so sometimes, I go into the 'Custom Game' menu, and reduce the amount of AI civs. That sometimes works too.

If none of the above work, just use the age-old method of repair: hit your computer over and over.
