Another Civ problem!

I've got Civ 3 transferd over now.When i started up the it said it was missing the civopedia Palace icon. Could some one help me out please? thanks!

A bit more info! Missing the palace icon means that civ can't find pediaicons.txt. It should be in your civ3\text directory.

Are you trying to play the GOTM? Or, are you installing the game?

I've transferd over the game from my iMac! maybe someone could duplicate a orignal one for me.please. thx

If you mean you would like a fresh copy of the pediaicons.txt file then here it is.

Oh i just transferd a fresh copy of Civ over! I got CivEdit to work!

EDIT:I found out! I am pumping out scenarios now!

Never having done it, I'd say "very carefully"

Here's what I found wandering the menus:

- Select Senario - Custom Rules to enable the Scenario RUles pop up on the top right. Click OK to confirm that you know you are heading into the unknown.

- Select Civilizations in the top right popup and click the Edit button beside it.

- Change stuff and save a new scenario .bic file

- Then start worrying, because you need to ensure that the pediaIcons.txt file reflects the name changes you made.

BTW Civ3 text fles must have DOS line endings - return AND line feed. Use a text editor that allows you to select the line endings, and ensure that they are set correctly. There's a modified version of TextEdit linked from my sig that allows this.
