What martyrs for a worthy cause. You should hold some rallies where you can salute to your hearts' content.

All this anti fascism, forcing people to become pro fascist

People in fascist/nazi rallies still have rights, anyway. The main issue probably isn't those who are actually fascist/nazi, but those who downplay them or (on the other hand) those that fuse the "neutrals" (for lack of a better word...) with the fascist.
But yes, in the US there seems to be a massive popular movement of kneejerk anti-"""left""", which surely is at least as bad as the kneejerk seeing fascists everywhere.

socialism (dirty word with Cubans, Venezuela etc).
I am sure this is true, but I am equally sure it is a miscommunication. Cubans and Venezuela hear socialism and think state ownership of the means of production. Bernie (and antifa?) say socialism and mean everyone getting healthcare and a progressive tax system.

True but if you have to explain that distinction you've already lost.

I agree. The european word for the Bernie socialism is social democracy? Is that not obviously a less scary that a word that really does mean who owns the means of production?

Social Democracy works yes.

I wouldn't use those labels though.

The problem with this line of argument is that over time we lose the ability to lose valid words to describe something accurately.

The irony is that this is what right-wingers always claim is being done to them and their "free speech", but this is (naturally) rarely the case.

In some cases I think you just let them defeat themselves.

Last I heard Labour's ahead in the polls in the UK essentially by not being BoJo and Co.

Here the neo libs got wrecked by lurching to the right. They went from around 40% (46% last election) to 27%.

Same theory applies to the left. Sometimes they defeat themselves and lurch to far left. Trump lurched to far right and essentially defeated himself.

Sometimes say nothing and ignore them. Let them stamp their feet and throw their toys.

That might work if the Tories keep Bojo and keep messing up.
Alternative is 12-18 months before an election the Tories ditch Boris, choose somebody new, make a couple of cosmetic gestures that look good and say they have changed. Its worked for the Tories before.

Then Starmer who is trying to be noteable only for not being Boris is left offering more of the same.

ah yes, the 'bridge too far' of opposing fascists

Can we really say the violent suppression of free speech is fascist if antifascists are the ones violently suppressing free speech?

It's been repeated too many times now Berzerker, it's become the truth. No use fighting it.

I am but Diogenes searching the echo chamber for an honest man

Have you ever gone as far to do as much like?
