Any news on the June-Update?

As the title says: do we have any news on the June-update? It's been awfully quiet on FXS's part in that regard. Sure, there was the Community get-together to get input for the advisor-stuff, but how about ending the news drought of May with a juicy teaser for what's to come :)? (@FXS_Sar for the rescue?)

Aside from me invoking and pleading with FXS, what do we know, what do we expect? Let's start a bit of a discussion what to hope and dream for :)

'Hoping' on my part: 'Distant land'-start in SP + Steam Workshop!

'Dreaming' on my part: Same for MP, so my regular group of 8 friends can migrate to Civ7 finally (some of them would even buy your Game, FXS, so there's an incentive ;) )

We know two things

  1. The Switch 1 version of the April update is supposed to come out to coincide with the launch of the Switch 2 version, which launches on June 5th (a week from this Thursday).
  2. The new Terms of Service is out next week.

I would assume the new update is next week and we will be getting a dev update either later today or on Thursday.

I expect an update in the next few days. I can't wait, because I'm waiting to migrate my version to the switch 2, so I can access better performance and larger maps.
I honestly don't know what to expect, but I hope for improvements to legacy paths, religion and diplomacy in the future. Also something related to city loyalty.
I'm still confident about the future!

From https://civilization.2k.com/civ-vii/game-update-notes/:

Looking ahead, we’ll also be sharing an Update Check-In soon that’ll give you a look into what’s coming next. Until then, here are some things the team is working hard on and planning to include in the June update (subject to change):

Large & Huge Map Support
Steam Workshop Support
Improved Game Setup Options
New Religious Beliefs and Balance
New City State Bonuses and Balance
New Town Specializations and Balance
Specialist Balance
Treasure Fleet Improvements
UI & Quality-of-Life Improvements

As always plans can shift, but we want to get these changes in your hands as soon as we can!

I'm really excited about larger maps, in civ6 i always played on large maps and have been looking forward to them being added.

Larger map would require a lot of adjustments. For example, new city-state bonuses are must have, because I often burn the list even on standard maps.

That would apply to religious beliefs as well.

I think the boggest adjustment is a Hige map should allow 12 players. The base game doesn’t have 12 civs in any age, and having 12 civs in an age depends on DLC. Which means a Huge map may require Duplicate civs in certain Ages if you don’t have sufficient DLC.

Will be curious to see what those balance passes take in. All pieces that need some balance, so interested to see if they end up as smaller passes, or as a slightly larger overhaul.
