Anyone else more hyped for 4UC VP than civ 7 😅?

Yes. New tables are being added. No Lua jank.

We'll need to discuss how that rework will actually function in practice, but it is something the devs want to do. At launch, we're looking at basic functionality for the added components, with further improvements coming down the line.
From my understanding the new components with have the exact same AI as current VP when it releases, is that correct then?

Also the AI is already arguably the best AI of any 4x game tied with old world, so how likely is this new ai system in actuality? I asked the one developer, but he never got back to me.

I Can not wait until we finally get 4UC VP! Don't get me wrong civ 7 looks good, but honestly the fact it's releasing on consoles simultaneously as PC solidifies that it will be a more casual experience and I can guarantee it will have poor AI for that reason alone.

I just hope the AI of 4UC will be up to snuff with all new building and units. I know there is talk of a MAJOR AI rework in VP, but I Don't know if that will come to fruition.

I keep checking daily to see if 4UC is released yet or if any new news comes out.
Im more hyped to start playing civ 4 again than over 7.

I'm more hyped to try out Old World over 7. I've heard only good things about it.

I cannot say I am looking forward to it, but am certain however it turns out it will be in a different league to Civ 7.

I don't get why they copied the 'change civilization when entering a new age' thing from humankind, which is one of the worst feature of this already bad game.

I kinda liked it, but only for 2 games, because third game was too similar once I got used to the concept. Maybe those limits of which civs you can choose based on your actions would make a difference. Anyway, I prefer for them to try new things, because worst case scenario I'll just play VP. If it happened to be good, then great!

Vox Populi is by far the best 4X experience I've ever had. The AI actually being good at the game is something I barely see in other games. I guess it is hard for companies to financially justify working on the AI - can't sell a DLC containing only AI tweaks. So, adding more content to VP is always exciting. I haven't even tried the 4UC modmod myself.
About Civ 7, once managers with purely economical and financial education start making the key decisions about game development there is only one way - downwards. There are countless examples of excellent games with terrible sequels, whose only purpose is to milk the fans to the last drop. I think with Civ 6 the company has taken this path. The price of Civ 7 is also crazy high (70$ base game, 130$ full game). And they plan to release plenty of DLCs afterwards. Even if the game is good, there is no way I am buying it without some heavy discount, probably at least a year after release. Long live VP!

What's the difference? Because usually there isn't much, so I just treat base game as a full game until a DLC arrive.

Edit: okay, I see it now: https://civilization.2k.com/civ-vii/buy/
So in this case the difference is substantial. So basically it's a DLC even before the game is released, lol :D New level of corporate greed? But hey, apparently people buy it, so...

70$ is insane, 130$ is even worse for a new game without any proper DLC. I cannot see how they can justify such a price. I was not convinced to buy the game any-time soon, I am know convinced to never bother coming even close to it (unless a friend can "find a free copy")...

I'll probably buy it at 90% discount (maybe 75% if it's really good) for a complete edition.
