Anyone else notice this? Trading posts available with Guilds tech

I love this honestly, In a lot of games the worker strategy was just TP > TP > TP > TP.

I'm wondering if what the value will be for them now though, like if they'll just be +1GP from the start, or if they might have their old value of +2GP since they come later.

I will be eternally grateful for not having to see this anymore:
Spoiler :

Actually, the only reason why the Workers spam Trading Posts, is purely because puppets have a default focus on GOLD. so, you see the logic.

Even the "recommended" will tell you to build Trading Posts.

And that's why I have begun manually work my workers :D

Even with it coming slightly later, you'll still want to TP spam around puppets.

In this case, Santiago wasn't a puppet and had a focus on production. But, yeah, I get your point about puppets.

I agree with Buccaneer and Luckystrike77. Although I play single player, my focus is on production and growth. As long as I have some river tiles, I am unconcerned with gold and don't lay down trading posts. If I happen to start in an area that is river free, I will usually pick one city to get my early economy up and runniing. In that case that one city will get trading posts. I will then shoot for some early gold producing buildings and wonders to compensate.

BTW, without laying any trading posts in my empire, I can usually get the same gold count late in the game, and I get killer priduction.

Well said. I get the gold from puppets where, unfortunately, I have to spam trading posts. Lately, I have been trending to leave hexes for GP stuff but I guess I could have them replace TP - just not a priority, just as getting gold never have been much problem. By the way, I have learned from playing Civ2 15 years ago to never, ever automate anything. It's incredulous to me to automate workers - it takes so very little effort to manually think about what they should be doing every turn and it keeps one head in the game.

There typically comes a point late in the game when my strategy is set, and not even the foolish auto AI can screw it up. It is then that I usually get bored with manually controlling workers, and I'll let them go full auto. Most, if no all, of the hexes around my organic cities will be improved by then anyway. If a high priority resource presents itself, I will take control of of one worker to get that resource going ASAP. It gets tedious controlling the AI workers once I get a large puppet empire going, and the AI prioritizes TPs around the puppets anyway.

Plus, the evidence of screenshots suggests that TPs will actually look quite pretty in G&K.
