Battle of Palermo! Roman forces marching to the relief of the besieged city met in open battle with the Numidian troops.Though their landings on the east coast of Sicily were contested, they were only slightly battered by the local Iron Galley, which was ultimately sunk by superior numbers. As the battle raged, the Romans started with a surprise attack using catapults which decimated the Numidians' catapults. Following which, the Romans advanced in a "turtle formation" which nulled the use of the Numidian crossbows. Once among the crossbowmen's ranks, the Romans wrecked the lightly defended forces, creating a rout. However, the tide turned once more as the Numidian cavalry rode to the rescue. Over 1000 brave cavalrymen charged into the Roman lines, killing many. Upon breaking the legionaries' ranks, the cavalry pressed forward, to run into the waiting crossbows of the Roman army. The arrows of the Romans devastated the cavalry, leading to the victory of Roman arms. The arrival of 1000 legionaries from the city itself, along with civilian conscripts only made sure that not a single Numidian would leave the shores of Sicily.

Due to the great defeat at Krakow, the Poles have been forced to withdraw their troops from Russia, ending the Polish section of the siege, and stretching the French forces near to a breaking point around Kiev. Steam Tanks invented! These lumbering benemoths, are the new cavalry. Equiped with 2 cannon, the Steam Tank moves as fast as a train without the confines of rail lines. They are VERY expensive to build, and have to be built by the master artisans. whether this proves prohibitive or not remains to be seen.
