AOL Instant Messenger won't work!

For whatever reason, whenever I try to open a message box or whenever one of my friends sends me an instant message on AOL Instant Messenger, it crashes. It works fine until I recieve or try to send a message. I am currently using the newest version of AIM. By the way, the circled parts in picture one are areas in the message box that are not as they should be.

well you can use gaim; or netscape - it ships with netscape messenger, which is simplified aol messenger.

Can I easily communicate with people who use AOL Instant Messenger with the ones you mentioned?

gaim works with *all* the popular messaging systems.

GAIM or Trillian. I dl'd the GAIM file, but never got around to instaling it. Where'd it go...
So try Trillian. I know somebody that has a Trillian AIM skin I think.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling AIM?
