Apocalypto

I eventually want those cities capac settled in our area, they will become great cities.

Not that we can attack him soon, he'll have feudalism next turn.

Wow! How could you be sure about this?! Is there some way to glean into such info in BtS?

Tech: Stick with CS

Mutal - use the GS for an academy. We'll have aniother in 5 turns to bulb Philo (provided I trade Calendar/5 :gold: to SB for Alpha). Take back the wheat from Mayapan for now and work cow too for faster growth. Market>monastery>temple>sword

Lakahma - finish NE>market and start to farm it over. Also chop grass hill and mine

Chichen - hindu mish>market

Uxmal - axe>holkan and mine hills - can take iron at some point if we want a decent production center (gimps Calakmul though for :hammers:)

Mayapan - use for workers and mine its hills

Calakmul galley>market

Ox - lh>wb

Hurrian lib>CH chop jungle & get cow working

Xukpi granary>lib>monastery

settle New Shangian and get banana planted and chop jungle

Have settler wait 2N of stone and wait until HC sends out a settler - hold off as long as possible

Mutal has an Academy already. Some options re. existing Great Scientist include; Philosophy bulb later, Education bulb later, Lakamha Academy, and merged Great Scientist in Mutal, all have appeal.

I'm fine with the proposal to grow Mutal's population - I tried to grow on the Cottages where possible, but two will be built in the next four turns yet the population will only grow by one in that time with the current set up. Lakhamha could grow one of them though for a bit.

Calackmul could get the Maoi Statues in time, but I didn't want to start on it while our Stone wasn't available near Xukpi.

There's a Work Boat already making its way to Oxhuitza from Mayapan if that's what that Work Boat build proposed is for. I'm wary of a Barbarian Galley that was there a few turns ago.

Xukpi could be shaped into a production site (esp. as we have quite a few commerce oriented sites at this point), and as such perhaps something along the lines of Barracks and units there. It'll need quite a bit of work to get its food production to a reasonable level (clearing jungle with chain irrigation).

Best of luck! :)

Plan looks good to me, but I'd use the scientists for bulbing (Philo and Edu).

Sounds fine to me too, would agree about keeping scientists for bulbs.

I'm not sure where you'd plant New Shangian right now, but since Old Shangian didn't grow I'd definitely put it riverside, even if we're exp. That way the eastern banana is first ring so easier to keep vs Vilcabamba, while the western banana is less in danger from incan cities. Beside we can share the cow with Hurrian.

EDIT: nvm, I see you already discussed that. Glad we agree! :p

@ Five rings – a glimpse of the Espionage screen where we have accrued enough points against HC so that we can see his research.

Quiet set. I played until CS was complete if we want to go into Bureau. There are a build or two that I just stuck in as a placeholder as well Paper for a tech.

Highlights were Lakahma finished the NE, Monty converted to Hinduism, AP built by some Buddhists, at least 2 GG's biadl (hopefully a good sign).

Not bad. Not too sure the Philo bulb was the best thing here. I'd rather use those GS's for Edu/Lib bulbs. Philo would not be that hard to get later.

Did we run Caste during the Golden Age? I expected to starve out more GSs. Not sure we managed all that properly. Plus, we did not have NE up yet.

I'd rather have Libraries up in some of the cities rather than Markets.

Instead of chopping the jungle, I'd get that worker on a farm in Laka - city has been neglected.

Mutal - We should switch the farm/cottage tiles just south of the city

Once NE finishes, I suggest we switch to Bureau/Caste/Pac for a spell to pump some GSs.

We should keep an eye on HC teching CS. Might want to put a turn into Feud and maybe trade CS for it - gives a boost on Paper and, ofc, a nice advanced unit.

Nice report and a nice clarification about the intelligence-gathering capabilities in BtS. Makes you work harder, uh? For a bigger loaf, though...

I have a question, maybe I was just stupid enough not to get the answer from the screen: Did you succumb to Monti's polite request for Currency?

I also think you've mentioned finishing the NE?!;)

@ lymond ... No opportunity to starve out Great Scientists in the Golden Age. We didn't have access to the Caste System (until the Golden Age was almost over), didn't have the National Epic built, and didn't have a decent population in relevant cities. Whether we should have waited 20+ turns to fire off the Golden Age I guess is another question.

guys switch me into lurk mode for a while... playing other games lately and just lurking civ forums.

I wouldn't have time now for civ...lol, tor etc.

I'll pick this up over the weekend. V - hope we see you back soon.
