Ara: History Untold

If this was a AAA game, it would have got an automatic 9+/10. Such is the way of the big gaming media companies.
I don’t think the the author wrote the review for a big media company. Does anyone know mkaugaming.com?

this is what chatgpt pretends to know:

MKAugaming is independently operated by a team of gaming enthusiasts and does not appear to be owned by a large corporate entity. The platform was originally created as a Mortal Kombat fansite in Australia in 2011. It has since evolved into a comprehensive site that covers gaming news, reviews, podcasts, and other pop culture topics. The site remains a community-driven project, dedicated to delivering content from a gamer’s perspective.

My question was rhetorical by the way

Sorry, I am just being cynical. I am not at all a fan of big gaming media. 😵

Old World got judged somewhat harshly by the big gaming media and I hope Ara doesn't share the same thing.

Maybe...but Civ 6 did get a 7/10 on that particular site. :-)
Civ VI had a pretty decent launch. Definitely deserved better.

Perhaps 8/10 is a good score for them, then. 👍

Yesss more footage! The laser walls and laser rifles, very cool! I also had no idea they would allow more than one region moved per turn, that could make those mobile armies a bit of a menace...

yes, I loved the laser stuff. I'm hyped to see what these later ages are like. It's always nice to see how nations transition from early to sci-fi eras.

So do buildings have different cultural styles based on the civ?
They have mixed styles (both buildings and people), so you see different architecture styles in your empire. It is supposed to depend on gameplay decisions (living world). I don't know how they have implemented it. Maybe if you have access to certain resources the clothing of your people will change.

I think they mentioned in another video that population may move from one nation to another depending on how the cities are doing, so maybe they're keeping track of that percentage? not sure if it's necessarily only when you're doing poorly in providing services, but I found the part I was thinking of:

There is also this section of an older video that talks about the different cultural buildings, though not specifically what mechanics are affecting that

this reminded me of something I was wondering. Can you follow specific "sims" on the map? Do more sims start to populate as a city gains population?

To add on to this, they also mention how migration and cultural influences affect the architecture (and style, in general) of your civ. Latest blogpost @7:30!
