Do they hang out sometimes? Do they fight over souls? How they determine who belongs where? Don't they have to have some contact?
Also, do you tihnk that they are using emails, at least in heaven?

It remember me a song, call spanish train.

Its about god and the devil playing poker and betting human soul, . A very good song BTW.

Edit: if someone can post this song words, i would appreciate.

Not friends but they have been engaged in the same chess game for quite some time so I guess they do hang out. Few beers, toss around a disaster or two, just to pass the time.......

I believe there is also a movie with a similar theme to that gambling with the human soul. Now if only I could remember the title...

I would give away the plot, but then there would be no incentive for you to watch it, now would it..;)

ON topic: No, they are not.

Edit:
IIRC, Lucifer/Satan was one of God's angels, but did not want to be just an angel, so he broke away from God. Growing up in a country where learning about Christianity is obligatoric - wether one believe in God or not oneself, at least one gets to know about religions...

I don't belive in either of them , though I do know that the two guys sitting on each of my shoulders are red and have horns....

Right shoulder....'do it'

Left shoulder........'why haven't you done it yet!'

They aren't friends.

God choses not Satan. No contact is needed.

They are similar to coworkers. Satan's job is to reform souls for Heaven, no?

Oh wait, the bible says God will fight Satan, right?

Yah, Zarn has the gist of it. His answer is not an opinion but a FACT. Because he knows.

Paalikles, you live in America? :p

I'm not sure friends is quite the right word. Taking the traditional view, God is father to Satan as he is to all things. Satan is more like a teenaged son who is rebelling against his father and is being punished for it.

Friends doesn't really cover it. But certainly there is more to the relationship than simple enmity.

Are God and Satan friends? Sure, why not! I mean Frodo and Baggins are friends and they're not real either...

that a good question . i believe God loves even Lucifer but Lucifer turn his back on God and rebel againest Him . Lucifer took a third of the angels with him and started war with the 2/3 angels who continue with God. then Lucifer brought man into this war.
while Judas was betraying Jesus , Jesus still call him friend . this must have hit Judas very hard . Judas realize what he had done but it was too late . he went out and killed himself

at one time satan was an angel, he said he wanted to be better than God and then he got kicked out of heaven. I don't really understand the punishment of letting him reign over 2 different spiritual planes, but i'm sure there is a reason for it somewhere

No my answer is fact, which is "Satan" does not exist as its a physical incarnation of evils people commit, but God does exist, just not in the Man on the Throne since, as God is more abstract.

This is why faith frustrates me though, because both Zarn and I know, but its different, so somewhere along the line one of us has to be slightly misguided.

Whoa! That's deep stuff. Frodo and Baggins are the same person. Are you implying that God and Satan are two sides of the same entity? That blows my mind, man.

Or did you mean to say Frodo and Bilbo?

Not friends, adversaries. There was war in heaven, but Lucifer was beaten and then was cast out to Earth, along with his followers. Satan is the ruler of this world. Now the day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord—and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” And Satan answered the Lord, “From roving about on the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” Job 1:6-8. In this context "sons of God" likely means the angels. "Satan means foe or opponent. Note that God does not dispute Satan's right to possess the Earth.

This is the primary distinction between Christianity and Islam, in my mind. Christians believe that God comes to snatch them out of a fallen world, but Islam teaches that Man is to subdue the world.

Sure, me God, Satan, and Zues play cards every thursday!

This thursday we are going to play cribbage while watching, "Tron."

Sure Satan can have a bit of a temper and God occasionally smites one of Satan's demons, but for the most part they usually get along just fine and dandy!

They're as much of friends as Hitler and Mother Theresa would be.

Still don't think they'd like each other all that much.
