i have build my own scenario based on a Civ 3 map with basic rules in C3C editor.
everthing works perfect BUT

1.
I have no "area view" for my citys !! the same problem on all another original scenarios
by C3C. Only when i start a "new game" over the main menu the option is available.
Why is that option not possible for scenarios. Has someone the same problem ?

2.
The palace view is also not available in my scenario. the F9 key take no affect
And i am in 1500 AD ( over 30 citys ) and no grow on my palace !!!!
Is that feature also not available in scenarios or only on my game ?

- is that a bug or something ? I love this two features so much.
maybe samewhere is switch to turn the options on ?

:crazyeye:

i hope so .......
i don' t understand why this options are disabled !!!!

bad idea - i paid over 70 $ for Civ3 + PTW + C3C
and now this

ok but it is still one of my favorite games.
I hope for a patch soon ...............

bye

Yeah the palace view is kinda lame. They could fancy it up some more. You know, make it lively. Or just like allow you to go deeper into the palace at the location of the throne (like in civ2)

Answer this business question for me. How many extra units will "Better Palace View" sell? Think about it. :D

Edit: Smiley added since not everyone has the same sense of humor and couldn't tell when I was joking.

Try this, how many units will "aerial view disabled in senarios" sell? i find myself hacking the conquest. file so I can still use aerial view. I love looking at my cities. What really should have been done is creating a flag in the editor to disable such features. They changed so much already...

I agree.

How to turn "aerial view" on

is that possible ?

I wonder if it is just a file removed, or an actual change to the .exe? I could try copy and pasting the city interface from the vanilla civ....

Come to think of it, why has the forum for Requests, Fixes and Changes been locked? No more wishlists? What about for upcoming patches?

Could easily be added in a patch. Think about it, you really cool guy.

It is not that easy to add the new buildings and Wonders. Based on what Gobi posted about it, such a process was fairly intensive, not something that was so easily implemented without a major commitment of resources that would have taken a lot out of what is in the game. Personally, I am glad they chose to focus on the changes made that will enhance game play. While I would liked some of the scenarios stuff to be in the Epic Game (Assassins, Spies, etc) without modding, I am glad that they can be modded in. I won't be playing much of the scenarios once I figure out what's in them that I want to mod into the Epic Game.

The epic just doesn't feel so epic without the epic, sweeping views of my epic city throughout the epic timeline of history.
=(

Patches aren't easy or free for the people who have to actually do them. Even simple ones can easily cost thousands of dollars to do (based on the going rate for programmers and artists). This isn't even including the opportunity cost of what they could have been spending their time on. Think about it.

Having talked with the people doing this at the time, they said that it'd take a few weeks work to get the code and the art together to do it. This was a few weeks that they decided could be better spent on balancing the conquests and adding new rules.

The art for the new buildings/wonders doesn't matter. There was no reason to disable the aerial view completely.

I think that the aerial view and palace view are pointless. I don't care about expanded my palace unless they made it actually have some effect on the game. And the aerial view is just pointless IMO.

Well... yeah, they are purely aesthetics. But Civ III just wouldn't be Civ III if it had the graphics from Civ I. It's not about whether they're useful, or necessary, or important to the gameplay engine, it's just that they add a lot to the feel.
