Arioch's Analyst Thread

It's likely boosted further by a building or something else. It looks like Fish, as they're typically easier to see than Pearls and you can see them a bit.

Yes, there's a Seaport building that probably gives that bonus. I would think it was Whale though, considering the hammer bonus.

Remember ! As a russian, you gain +1 prod with each strategic resource.

But, in the new feature thread I said something about road. This is the proof :

Did you say Hanging Gardens ? No, no, no ... I didn't ear anything !

Yes, the road is pillaged while the pasture is untouched.

Good job snipperrabbit!

A few more tidbits:
- You get a warning when a city can bombard an enemy (Image 7)
- Maritime city states give +2:food: in the capital and +1:food: in all other cities (image 15)

From SnipperRabbits screenshot of Yaroslavl above, is it just me or does this look like a very unusual mountain?
Could it be a Natural Wonder?

Looks a lot like it could be a natural wonder indeed. I wonder what it represents.

There's a Scientist Improvement northwest of the city, but we had already seen those.

Check out the victory condition screen - it seems to indicate that a conquest victory is earned by being the last civ to control its own capital.

Actually, that's just another way of phrasing what we've know for a while: domination wins are achieved by conquering all of your rivals' capitals.

Without this "Bias" option Russians always attack or exploit Warsaw and Helsinki. This is very interesting aspect of the game. I am Polish and while playing CiV I may think of "liberation" of Warsaw. This may have a high impact to my strategy. I wonder if I can stand the situation Warsaw provides food for Russia in exchange of peace ;)

This will be even more interesting when Warsaw declares war on me :crazyeye:

Also, in the victory condition screen we see 12 players and 164 cities in the game (and modern era not reached). That's about the amount you'd expect on huge maps in civ4, being one further confirmation that map sizes will be similar.

Mercade, you found it but it's NOT the scientist improvement.

And Machu Pichu is indeed a mountain ! ;)
Ah, yes. It must be the customs house. In the strategic view of the same city, it's got 4 gold on the tile. But I am willing to assume that it gives 5 gold (just as the academy gives 5 science). I think that 4 is the max they show in the strategic view being 4 or more.

And this is Maccu Picchu shown on the map.

Does it double as Natural wonder? Or maybe you need a mountain within the city range to build it?

Probably needs a mountain. It would look really cool to build it on the slopes of Mount Everest, as it seems that natural wonder will be surrounded by normal mountain tiles.

I notice all farm tiles rond Yaroslavl in the screenshot gives 4 food, and considering the player surely has researched both civil service and fertilizer, so it seems like fertilizer gives +1 food to all non-fresh water tile farms, while those along the lake already got it from cc. I was kind of hoping the bonuses would stack for a total of +3 near fresh water.
