I have an idea for a new undead civilization for FFHII, here's what I have so far:

Exiled. This was the fate of Abath. He remembered the day he was tried for blasphemy vividly and bitterly. Guardsmen stormed his house while he was experimenting on a dead human. Before he could act, he was on the floor being tied up with chains and a dozen fully armored Patrian battle-mages ready for any resistance. The trial was short and decisive, he was to be exiled to the jungles of the danmed, where none have ever entered and ever returned in any state to tell what they saw. But Abath had prepared for this. He knew that he was going to be discovered, so he made a pact with Arawn, Abath would abide the god's will, and receive his protection. When he was exiled, Arawn gave him tremendous, and terrible power, from which he was able to glean sustenance, and turn massive armies of people and animals that had died in the hostile jungle. When the blizzards of the age of ice struck, he was able to raise hundreds that had died from the sudden cataclysm, and keep himself alive from Arawn's dark magic. When the ice retreated, he had mustered thousands of undead from all races and speices, ready to act out Arawn's will upon the new world.

for the leader, I was thinking "Abath, Leader of the risen" and for the leaderhead, maybe this?

as for playing, definitely "fallow" trait, and gaining population through killing living units along with a building similar to Hyborium's "demonic citizens" that makes no unhappiness in the city. Maybe benefiting from war and death with units that can be built quickly but weaker then normal units. Also, how maybe a spell that made them able to take control of undead units or a spell that creates an improvement similar to barrows but spawned units are under control of the civilization but can only be cast within your borders. and be the best early and early mid game civ, but weak at mid to late game.

and does anyone know what "army of the undead" is in Latin?

Have you checked out Tarquelne's "Scions of Patria"? It's based on Fall Further, which hasn't been updated for the newest version of FfH, but it's a really interesting and pretty complete civ. Seems to be similar to what you're looking for.

never seen them before now... I think this would be a more evil version of them.

That story is ridiculously out of sync with FFH lore. Also there are at least two other undead civ modmods already out there and we really don't need another one TBH.

And I think that their might have been mabye two-dozen mages, plus Kylorin's Students. There weren't very many. That why they were so powerful.

And don't forget the Sidar. They are undead as far as I'm concerned.

They are not. Despite using the magic of Laroth to trade their souls for immortality, they abhor the undead. Any shade would kill you for comparing them to such abominations.

Plenty of people will kill you for any number of reasons. That does not change what they actually are, even if they will kill you for calling them so.

Shades still are attached by a mortal coil. They have no bodies, except for that form which they choose to take on a regular basis, but are still attached to Erebus. So, they are here by their own will, really.
Undead are forcibly kept here. They desire to pass on, but are held here by strong magic. That's usually the reason Undead are pissed off and snarlin.

Nobody follows him specifically. He's jus the Angel put in charge of Death. He's not evil tho. His job is to help those who've died to properly pass on. Kinda like the Greek God Hades, who wasn't evil as the Disney movie "Hercules" suggests, and who didn't want to take over the world and depose Zeus. His job was the care of the dead.

And Arawn is so busy with this job, he ignores all of creation. (His Archangel, Gyra?, does involve herself with Erebus occasionaly, such as to protect the Sidar from her twin, Basium.

Very true. So, it doesn't make much sense to have a large of amount of worshippers for Arawn. He isn't like Junil (in that Junil wars against evil through his worshippers and sends his angels Sabathiel and Sphener to help his worshippers). So, Arawn doesn't need civs or religions that worship him. Even supposin he had a religion or civ dedicated to him, he wouldn't care. Arawn ignores creation to take care of the dead.

BTW, jus so ya know, Arawn is neutral. So, your line bout him allowin this guy to raise the dead through Arawn's evil power doesn't fit. See here, http://fallfromheaven.wikia.com/wiki/The_Gods.

The Sidar revere Arawn. They neverexactly "worshiped" him in the usual sense, but they used to be closer to worshiping him they are now. He completely ignores them, so there isn't much point in worshiping him. Gyra, the archangel of death, did save the Sidar a couple times--from her twin brother Basium, archangel of life.

Worship and reverence are two completely different things.

But, yeah, if you must make another Undead civ, abculatter2, please make sure your lore is correct. Use the FfH wiki or the lore section on this forum to check it all. BTW, if your undead civ truly is better than, say, the Legion of D'Tesh (which needs to be updated badly), I will play it. At the very least, I'll prolly try your civ out. I do with every new civ.

Basium, the Archangel of Life wants to destroy the Sidar? They revere Arawn? You can debate it all you want but they are undead as far as I'm concerned. Maybe they abhor other undeads because they see what they have become and are not happy with it. I think Sandalphon's pedia entry eludes to that.

I don't think Basium is out to get the Sidar, but he dosn't care who gets between him and the Ashen Veil. He belives your with him or against him. I think him nearly destroying the Sidar was an accident. But I might just have missed the info that says otherwis.
