Sheila Fitzpatrick's work is supposed to be very good, but I've not read much of it.

John Reed's account is a great on-the-ground account of a variety of events in and surrounding the November revolution. If you mean to look a bit further, many of the survey texts deal with it alright, but you might seek out Alexander Rabonowitch's The Bolsheviks in Power:The First Year of Soviet Rule in Petrograd.
