As time passed and the kingdom of Beneria expanded, the lands became increasingly difficult to manage. Perhaps the most remembered example of this was at the end of the Fourteenth Dynasty, when the Third Mutasa was completely unaware of the fact that an army general had taken over the throne until a year after the fact, when he tried returning to his palace after supervising a campaign on the other side of the country.
In any case, the Second Mutasa of the Sixteenth Dynasty had in 825 AE just defeated a rebellion in the eastern part of the kingdom, which had been going on for about 20 years before anyone actually knew what was going on. Getting fed up with the whole thing, he created eight Suberias. Each one of the eight was to be directly ruled by Subtasa (with one exception), but the ultimate authority still resided with the Mutasa. In addition, each Subtasa chose his successor in case of death, but at any time the Mutasa could remove a Subtasa and choose a new one to take his place.
The following are the list of Suberias, dated 825 AE (the capitals share their names with those of the Suberias):
Montaga -- The heart of Beneria, it contains the capital city and is ruled directly by the Mutasa.
Benora -- Located along the Benon and just to the northwest of Montaga, it contains a major centre for trade within the kingdom.
Rebnir -- The westernmost Suberia, it contains one of Beneria's three major ports.
Jalacca -- Situated between Montaga, Benora, and Rebnir, it has made great strides in recent years because of newer, more advanced irrigation techniques have taken advantage of the many rivers in the area.
Lonari -- To the east of Montaga, it is most certainly second only to its western neighbour in many aspects.
Colan -- Situated along the coast to the south of Lonari, it contains Beneria's largest seaport.
Borolus and
Kamia -- consisting of the north and south of the Borol Basin respectively, they are the two newest regions of Beneria and as such the least populated. However, growth is expected to occur in the near future as the population expands.
