ASNES- Not going to end this time!

The Yuumi had crossed the river. Now their village encompassed both sides, so it became apparent the their land did not end where the river was, it went on, forever. Chief Duumi had decided what they were going to do, in the simple Yuumi manner. Expand and Exploit.

They needed trees to build more huts to live in not to mention tools, weapons and such. So he sent men north up the river to hack down the forest and send the logs down the river, they floated down and were pulled out by men in the village. At the same time these men scared the animals found in the north, south, where other men, for the women were busy with womanly things, would hunt them down.

As always his men were on the lookout for other gatherings of humans to 'Exlpoit' and incorporate into the Yuumi tribe. Women were especially prized because the Yuumi had quickly discovered mating with ones sister leads to many a deformed person who were simply no good at anything. Their men were useful as slaves, but it was the women who were vital for the expansion of the tribe.

Once a villager had suggested coaxing nearby tribes into joining the mighty Yuumi. Duumi had him decapitated.

Duumi was hungry and too much meat upset his stomach so he had decided to set the slaves to clearing the forest so he could plant flowers and grain. Someone had sniggered when he said flowers. He had them decapitated.

Since settling here life has been good. The few tribes the Fendiar have run into have been friendly and easily assimilated into our society. As we expand our farms and fields for herd’s things only look bright.

“Life is flourishing here in our new home” Elder Hamar says to the elder council, “but we cannot forget what brought us here from our ancestral homes. Treachery and deceit at the hands of our enemies, and must never be forgotten. In order to ever keep this from happening again we must teach our men the ways of the warrior, to be strong and fearless in battle and to protect what is ours”. “But what about our ways, the ways of peace and friendship to our neighbors” says Elder Santok? “We will keep to the old ways as much as we can but we must learn to defend ourselves and what is ours, I don’t propose we go and raid other tribes and become like a bloodthirsty deranged bear but we can’t let others take from us what they please any longer”. The other elders nod their heads in agreement, though it is a large break in their old ways the need has been seen that things must change in their hard journey to this new home.

As the council breaks for now the hunt for the best hunters and warriors in the tribe begins.

A Brief History of Nias

In ancient times, the people of Nias lived on the small archipelago of the southwestern coast of Sumatra. They were a prosperous, though highly decantralized and disorganized group. Times were, if the stories are to be believed, good.

But as all under the malicious eye of Irintava* know, good times do not last forever.

The troubles began with the attacks from the Sumatran tribesmen. They were all defeated, but distracted the people of Nias from the true danger- danger which came from below.

The great mountain at the center of their home island began to smoke and rumble. People noticed, but were unworried. This had happened before.

Then, something that hadn't happened before occurred. The mountain exploded.

Rivers of fire and choking ash all but annihilated the island. Plants in the nearby islands starved, buried in ash.

Much of Sumatra also suffered, but most of the ash was blown southwards, and away from civilization.

The shattered survivors of this cataclysm realized that to remain on their islands was to die. So they banded together for the first time in history, and set sail for a land far from the destruction. They sailed beyond Sumatra, and landed on Java after an epic migration.

There, they began to rebuild their nation. A single great city was built on the westernmost tip of the island, where the people of Nias first landed. From there, farms were set up, each successive set of development built further and further eastwards. Most of the local tribes were assimilated, becoming citizens of the growing nation.

Today, Nias is a rapidly-growing nation. Soon, it will likely cover all of Java- eventually... who knows where this state may go. Irintava has a tendency of upsetting even the most well-organized systems.

*Irintava- The cruel chaos god, who is responsible for all suffering and troubles on earth.

Alternative Silly Explanation
In a massive supercomputer complex in the center of an unknown world, two penguins were discussing something and waving at a map of Southeast Asia.

"So, Nias then?"

"Yes. This looks like a very promising world, we want a piece of it. The island is good... lots of opportunities for expansion, and a defensible position should it lose out." declared the first penguin.

"Indeed." concurred the second, "Launch colony pod."

The first penguin tapped a few buttons on the computer, and a view of a massive command ship appeared on the screen, replacing the map.

A hangar bay opened and a small pod burst forth from it. The view zoomed in on the small vessel, rocketing down towards the planet.

"Pod is on target..." stated the first penguin, "Entering upper atmosphere."

The pod blazed into red, then white-hot light as it encountered tremendous forces of air resistance.

"Commencing decelera-"

The pod shook violently, and something flew off of it.

"We've lost the starboard thruster!"

"The top one? Is that the one pointing to the sky and the stars?"

"No. Starboard means 'right'."

"That's stupid."

"Indeed. Anyway... the pod is shifting off course! It's spiralling!"

"Keep it on target!"

"It's out of control! I can't!"

"Well at least keep it out of the sea!"

"That's a bit hard, have you seen the map?!? 15 seconds to impact."

Every penguin in the area now had their eyes fixed on the screen.

"I can't control it, it's-"

The pod shook again.

"Port and Dorsal thrusters lost! It's stopping its spin!"

"Land it!"

"But it's off course!"

"Just land the damn thing!"

The penguin wrenched the controls as hard as he could (somewhat pointlessly, as he was remotely controlling a ship countless light-years away) and the pod swung around into its landing maneuver. With a reverbrating thud, it hit the ground.

"We've landed. Minimal casualties. The pod is still intact!"

A cheer echoed through the facility.

"Excellent... but it's on Java. Should we rename the area?"

"Nah, I like the name 'Nias'."

"Same here. Let's just retcon it."

Brief Description: The Comancheta have their orgins when a tribe of unknown peoples were transporting the Comancheta tribe to be slave. However the fleet of slave ships bound for somewhere in South America got blown away by a storm and somehow ended up on the shores of West Africa. Never to come back to North America again. Then they met up with the Garamantes which at first was a confrontation between two groups but then after the two leaders met each other they became friends. Then the Garamante leader suggested that they should form an alliance and fight the people who were persecuting the Garamantes. Thus the joint alliance of the Garamante and Comancheta peoples.

Hilarious story, Iggy.

Update has started.

Welcome Mr. Sioux.

Update 2, 4900 BC

Anasazi migrate south, to the river, enslaving all the *****es along the way.

The Fendiar integrate a couple of new methods of warrior making.

Janjaweed pirates attack Nias and Ratajok in continuous night raids to steal women and gold. They succeed in taking much money as the night raids are conducted, however they only steal enough women to replace the lost pirates in the battles that they engage against their enemies. Nias and Ratajok haven't much of a navy left at all, compaired to the "masters of the seas", the Janjaweed. The Janjaweed try to stay away from land confrontation, thus they do not gain too much against their foes.

The Nias try to start mining stone on their island. This seriously early stage of mining is full of mishaps, but in all they are the only civilization currently with a stone manufacturing plant, for lack of a better word for it. They start trying to build stone buildings.

The Rajai migrate south, enslaving everyone in their paths. They take over a populated area Siam propper and make it their own. They sacrifice bunches of their slaves too! :D

The Ravindran cult of farmers gain prestige throughout their lands, thus more people are attracted to the fields. This makes Ravindra the fastest agriculturally developing country in the world.

The Wriaje die out due to the harsh climate of their surroundings.

The Yuumi develope their farmalnds and, of course, enslave their neighbors as much as they can. (You forgot to send orders, but I could gather enough from your story to compensate ;))

I didn't recieve orders from the following:

Shadowbound
Nuclear_kid
MjM
The Major

For all of you, a slight population growth happened, due to your people breeding. Nothing more.

Ah cool, i wrongly assumed orders would be like in the past one... wher we kinda just write stuff :P Will be right next time.

Aww, why didnt i move?

Well, the place you wanted to move was pretty expansive for you to move there all at once, so I figured, since you said you wanted to move there all at once, that you would want to wait till you could.

Can perhaps have claimed the middle island or something?

Then again, i'll await me stats and moan some more then ;)

didnt plundering raise my economy.. and perhaps lower those i plundered?

Update's on Wednesday

didnt plundering raise my economy.. and perhaps lower those i plundered?

You raised navy, and kept the same economy rating due to plundering.

To: Janjaweed
From: Nias

You shall pay for your barbarism! Return those you have kidnapped from us. They are loved by us, but merely material for you.

To Nias
From Janjaweed

Our raids will continue, and we will relentlessly take your women and capture your ships unless you are willing to pay.
