ASNES- Not going to end this time!

Just noticed NWAG wants to be there.. so i'll think about a location

Actually, to hell with it. I doubt anymore of the old guys are going to show up.

UPDATE IS TO BE POSTED ON TUESDAY

If you're wanting to join and haven't posted who you want to join as yet, then do so right dadgum now. Grombar and Feanor and the conglomeration of numbers and letters' countries are up for grabs, because I seriously doubt they're coming back to this glorious NES.

NWAG wants to be in Assyria... Not the nile.

South of Han Oi and Rajai, north of Nias. (Southern part of today's Thailand, and malaysia, I think...)

Tomarrow is the update and I need orders from Ratajok and Han Oi (since these countries have players now). Abaddon, I need you to post a template for whatever country you're wanting to make.

The Holy Trinity, one of the most fundamental doctrines of the True Faith.
In Short the thee parts of the Holy Trinity consist of:
Amon: The Creator, the one true god
Savag: The Keeper of Mankind and gods avatar to men.
Ursus: The Keeper of Terra, gods avatar to nature.

While the one true faith is still relatively young as soon as Savag died debate began to whom they should follow, some argued that since Savag had no descendants the clergly should elect gather and identify who now has become gods avatar to men, basically meaning that he is the reincarnation of Savag, whom was Gods Avatar of Mankind, other argued that Ursus should be made leader and worshiped, few really supported this idea and while it was undisputed that Ursus was an avatar of god, and a manifestation of gods presence on earth, the clergy argued that Ursus was the keeper of Terra and not the Keeper of Mankind and therefore unfit for to lead them, and after a short debate by the clergy, they decided whom had become the reincarnation of Savag upon his death, a newborn baby whose name became Savag was now the new leader of the Empire, with the Clergy naming a Keeper of the Avatar to rule in his name until the Reincarnation had matured sufficiently.

This decision splintered the faith into three major sects:
The Amonii: according to whom Savag and Ursus are only manifestations of god and only Amon is the True God
The Savagii: according to whom the role as Keeper of Mankind of His Holiness Savag means that only he can hear the prayers of men and therefore only through him can god be worshiped;
The Ursines: according to whom the Sacred Ursus, whom is the Keeper of Terra, is the only one that can affect the lives of men and bless them with prosperity and health.

At first the Ursines were by far the largest of the three sects, largely because Ursus was still alive, his godhood proven by the fact that he, like the first Savag, aged many times slower than anyone else, however he too eventually died. His death was a serious blow to the Ursines whom lost the vast majority of their followers, most of whom became Amonii, whom right now are by far the largest of group, the Savagii were the smallest of group but now their ranks have been swollen by the defection of the more prominent Ursines, the Savagii now have most of the influential and important people of the tribe in their ranks, the Ursines have become the smallest sect, however they do have quite some influence as it is they to whom are trusted the raising and training of the Holy War Bears and the Tamed Coyotes, formerly known as Coyote Brothers but that name was changed because the clergy believed it carried too much pagan significance.

In an attempt to avoid further loss of followers the Ursines initiated a practice that would soon become tradition for the whole tribe, the Ursines began tattooing the Sign of Ursus, a Bear’s paw, on the front of their heads, which signified their affiliation to the Ursine sect, the Savagii responded to this act by tattooing the Fist of God on their heads, which was followed by the Amonii whom tattooed the Eye of Amon on their heads. These acts has some important effects on the tribe, besides a short golden age for tattooists, these tattoos somewhat polarized the relations between the sects, however at the same time they united the followers of the True Faith against the infidels, whom would murder and scalp anyone who bears one to the Marks of God.

Soon after the death of Ursus is was decided that the Tribe should construct a grand place of worship where both the physical remains of the two first avatars of Amon, Savag and Ursus, could be laid to rest, and where all sects of the worshipers of the True Faith could gather and pray to the One True God, this place of worship was to be called the (Most Sacred)“Temple of the Holy Trinity”.

(The Pictures represent:)
 1. The Eye of Amon aka the Ever Watching Eye, the Mark/Sign of Amon, and the Mark/Sign of God and the Sacred Eye, tattoo used by the Amonii sect.
 2. The Fist of God aka the Mark/Sign of Savag, tattoo used by the Savagii sect.
 3. The Holy Paw aka the Mark/Sign of Ursus, tattoo used by the Ursine sect.

Orders:
Begin Fighting the infidels in all directions, concentrate mainly on raiding their villages, during the raids concentrate mainly on taking their children that are young enough to be easily converted and brought up as faithful subjects, slaughter the rest and burn what cannot be taken.
Begin construction of the wonder “Temple of the Holy Trinity” Effects: ++ Education* +Culture

Update 9 4100BC

Civilzation spreads to The mideast and europe with the founding of new civilizations 'round the world.

Our first off is the Wodjenites, who found a tribe confederation largely off the base of their predecessors in the region, the Babylonians.

Second is Gaul who under the leadership of Chief Roland rallies together the surrounding tribes and forms a coalition against Britland, who have been invading.

Then we have Men-Nefer who have gathered together to form the first start of actual civilization on this side of the world, as the people of this land are more settled than that of the peoples around them.

The settlement of Trier has become rather large, and a new civilization has appeared around it calling themselves the Triumvirian. Their primary focus at this point is to be trading with the tribes around them.

Chief Garuk has formed together a coalition of tribes called "Germania" and is now looking to expand outward at the expense of his neighbors.

The last, Vabbia, on the southern tip of Florida. Another tribe coalition gathering under the force of an ambitious leader.

All these new civilizations have great potential to be powers in their respective areas... But can their potential be exploited~?!

Britland makes the settlement of London a permanent one. It still falls quite short of a town, but it is a beakon of Britland's more sophisticated culture than their neighbors.

Fendiar learn from the Kan to domesticate horses. Their wisemen also trek all over the known world to learn to traverse the seas better. They find the Nias catameran is a very solid way of doing business on the seas. They make their own model, the "Bu-Hu", which is a trireme-like vessel almost as solid as the catameran the nias work with.

Within Nias, a class of artisans and stoneworkers come about. Which makes this civilization even more interesting, as their economy and culture continues to define itself from it's neighbors, and their people become more occupation-oriented.

The Flint coalition keeps peace with Nias and tries not to stir up too much attention to what seems to them as the hegemon of the world. (although there are still many tribes in the coalition that would like rather to plunder the rich Nias)

Tyg gets the whallop put on them by General Zarak, who commands the main force of Nias fighters. The whallop took place when the leader of Tyg led their forces into a field-battle against Nias, and was assasinated the night before the battle was to take place. The new morning brought on a full-out assault by Zarak, and put Tyg to flight. The remnants of Tyg, minus their plundering leader, wish for nothing but peace with the dominating Nias.

As the Nias colony east of Borneo expands, it is met by another tribe coalition. This one called "Myagh". This is a tribe federation bent on retaking what has so far been claimed as "Nias lands". Nias forces have already met with them, and the ensueing conflict was a clear defeat for Nias, even though a small amount of Nias troops were armed with copper.

Ratajok follow Nias' lead and build their own city. The southern region of Ratajok has always been in awe of the Nias civilization, and it seems if something isn't done soon by the Ratajok leadership, the population of this region may switch their allegiance to the culturally defined Nias.

The war of Most Sacred Union of the Holy Amon Savag

Hemmed in on all sides, the Most Sacred Union of the Holy Amon Savag keeps up raids into the various factions who have divided against them, whom they call "Infidels" (in their respective language, of course). A decisive defeat is given to Mayheeko, and they crumble into the fold. The other 3 factions have neglected to give any real battle, rather moving away from wherever there's a presence of the Union, thus nothing decisive can be made against them.

The war really isn't fought that hard by any of the participants. The government and sheer number of people populating the lands of the Most Sacred Union of the Holy Amon Savag doesn't warrant such an expanse of land. And although the neighboring tribes are non-believers, the ruling class would rather consolidate and make monuments to their god, Amon... Speaking of that! The first Wonder of the world EVER is being created by the Most Sacred Union of the Holy Amon Savag. "The Temple of the Holy Trinity" should add considerably to the culture and scieces of this confederation of tribes, as it serves as both a center of learning and worship to the Amon, Savag, and Ursus. This is the first undertaking of it's type in the world, and it will be interesting to see how these ancient people overcome the obstacles put forth in the construction.

The Rajai War

We left off with the Rajai army and the Fendiar army facing off against one another. Uncertain of what the other was going to do.... The NES turned for a bit of tactics, for this battle would be a desicive one... Here's what developed.

The Rajai, outnumbering their enemy, went on the offensive in the first round of combat, and it seemed like the Rajai would win due to their numbers when the Fendiar professionals gave an orderly retreat, screened by cavalry. This was met by fierce retaliation from Rajai arrows, and the Fendiar cavalry took punishment.

2 days worth of maneuver took place afterwords, and a hill was eventually picked by Fendiar to give the second phase of the battle. The Rajai quickly made a frontal assault, but were driven off. Later that day, a totem of a golden bird was risen atop the hill, and a horn blew that awoke the Rajai warriors. They seen the bird set aflame and rolled down the hill in the direction of the Rajai. The Fendiar general indeed got the desired effect from this.... The Rajai were pissed.

The Rajai, without orders, gave battle to the fendiar, who retreated to a pass. They tried to screen their retreat with their cavalry as good as they could, but the rajai were relentless, and many more casualties were had from the retreat than expected. When the Rajai came to the point that the Fendiar general had prepaired for battle, the Rajai were too close to put into action the ploys set up, and a free-for-all melee ensued. With fire in their eyes, the Rajai routed the professional army of Fendiar. The defeat was desicive, and the region was given to the Rajai.

When word was recieved by Kan of this defeat, their army was sent to the region, and met with Rajai, who were eager to give battle again on such short notice. The Kan had a slight manpower advantage and horses, but quallity equipment and experience went to Rajai. The following battle was a near-decisive victory for Rajai, teaching the Kan a valuable lesson.

On the southern border, however, there is a different story taking place. The Rajai had left about 3 thousand men for the protection of their southern border, which wasn't nearly enough to contain the Han Oi, who had been prepairing for a while for this war.(like 200 or 300 years... :p) These 3 thousand men cannot be found in a large enough group to deal a serious blow, but practically wherever the Han Oi want to go, they go. Harassed as they may be from these soldiers using guerilla warfare against them, they move the battle line up considerably taking a large swathe of land, and urinating on it to mark it as theirs.

Ravindra Invaded

The Mughals strike deep into Ravindra, with one thing in mind. Plunder. This is Ravindra's first major engagement, and they do relatively well, thanks to Artuous Skinflayer. Territory has been gained on the side of the Mughals, but nothing too large. The Ravindra are having a difficult time dealing with the Mughal cavalry, but have learned how to domesticate horses themselves, so this problem will be decreased in the future.

Notes

I usually don't give out at uh boys so liberally, but I promised at uh boys for all the old guys that stayed with this NES. If you didn't know, 10 at uh boys can be traded in for an economy level. You gain them through writing stories mostly. I've been known to throw an at uh boy in there for other reasons as well (such as good roll-play of your country). Also took into account stories that were posted pre-revival.

Props to Feanor for starting the world's first great wonder.

On templates

I have decided to make a couple of changes to templates. First off, population is now shown in levels of density. The most dense country right now is Han Oi, at Light density (tied with other countries in level, but I as mod understand Han Oi has the most density) This, as well as land mass, will be a determining factor in the amount of men and ships trained or built per economy level. It'll take a while to get your country's population density higher than light, so be patient.

Also, armies have been changed, if you're out of the stone age, so that you no longer have 2 different numbers for your army. I'm adopting a more mod-friendly way of managing armies. Stone age armies will remain with 2 numbers (well equipped/rest of able bodied men). And as soon as you reach the copper age, you will lose the second number, and have only one.
