Assorted N.P. Team News

I've been away for a bit over a week (besides about an hour online a few days ago) but you guys are doing always in all the Vote Chess games. It's hard to believe the "Fast Players Group" is the #1 Vote Chess Team. Simply a matter of quantity I suppose. We should take on the Dark Knights, they have an 100% record (7-0 IIRC).

By the way all, we got a new team match up vs. We Chat Global (who've named it Rematch already expecting defeat :D) in case anyone (col? too many going?) want to join up.
 
Not interested, as you can see from my status there, I have to save room for my tourney starting March 1st.
 
I'm playing a lot of matches for Team England in the World tournament - so I'll say no - unless youre really desperate.
 
I just went ahead & started the match. Grimes, we're counting on you buddy! :D

BTW, take heart Sashie, your opponent is playing 201 games at once!! :eek:

Edit : I also accepted another vote chess match, it's only one move every two days though so we'll have won our 6-hour per move match before it's even time for our first move (we play black).
 
You'll beat him, and while playing him you'll be seeing his rating rapidly go up and down.:lol:
 
I went back a few moves and it appears they didn't see the potential mate.

I joined "The Best" for a tourney that it turned out I couldn't enter, and joined some of their vote chess. They talk a little, but miss some good moves. Apparently they have some voters who don't wait for the discussion.
 
Our small group size, while a disadvantage in Team matches is an advantage in Vote matches, along with our ill communication skillz of course. :D
 
I have to think that, for me at least, playing on teams in multiteam Civ games helps a ton.

And as for counting on me?... please: look at my stats! I'm still WAY too new to be doing this :lol:
 
Well just give it your best & make 'em work for it. :D Don't be intimidated by rating though, it is possible to gain an advantage at almost any level if your opponent gets sloppy. Even 2000-level players can, on occasion let their pieces by trapped, fall into forks & even mates. You never know.
 
Yeah - it's tough to put the rating difference out of mind. I noticed that same sort of thing with the Tactics Trainer. I used to have the clock ON. But I always felt a pressure to find the best move the fastest. Once I turned the clock OFF found that my mind was free to look at the board without distraction - I still knew that time mattered on a certain level, but I no longer felt an unnecessary urgency.

Perhaps I will put a piece of tape over that spot on my monitor where my opponent's rating appears when I sit down to play these games :mischief:
 
..my opponent in my Lit Match game went on a mass-resignation spree. Right when he was about to get an edge.

Hey, that's one point for us, right..?
 
Just saw that, two points for us. We're winning! :D

BTW, I just sent out of a seek for a team match 1 on 1 game so no one join & I'll just take on the first player than signs up. :) (I felt like just putting a regular seek out but better to play one for the team).

Actually if another team accepts the match while I'm asleep someone good just quick jump in & take my place so there aren't ten 2200's lined up by morning. :D

Err..I kinda accidentally joined one, against sinke71 (1656).. Was looking for the ratings limit & wanted to see if I could, and then I realized I can't withdraw myself from the roster after I joined :blush:
