Assorted N.P. Team News

Yeah - it's tough to put the rating difference out of mind. I noticed that same sort of thing with the Tactics Trainer. I used to have the clock ON. But I always felt a pressure to find the best move the fastest. Once I turned the clock OFF found that my mind was free to look at the board without distraction - I still knew that time mattered on a certain level, but I no longer felt an unnecessary urgency.

Perhaps I will put a piece of tape over that spot on my monitor where my opponent's rating appears when I sit down to play these games :mischief:
You can turn the clock off? I never knew that! Thanks for the info!

It looks like I'm about to face a few checkmates. Apparently, my good streak has come to an end. :(

Edit: Just challenged Azza and accepted Peter's challenge. If Azza accepts, I'll be up to 7 games, with my tourney starting March 1st. :o That'll add 4 more games max.

Top player on all the boards of our one on one matches is a 1594 so if anyone want to play against one for the team join one of them.

Noble effort Sashie. That a-pawn was a nuisance! So far I'm pretty even in my lit match game (but then again we're only on move 3 :D).

I was also watching that game, those 2400-players... sometimes they can be tough... Seriously, I looked at it with the engine and you did pretty well. Not the one serious mistake. If you had to pick one move to improve I'd go with 26...Qa7 where you lost almost half a pawn compared to 26...h6.

We need a few 1400-1800 players to jump in & take on the Chalipha group. I'd jump in but would feel a bit cheap taking on a 1587 player (though if the matches stay standing for a few more days I probably will jump in just for the hell of it).

I wish I could help, but my ranking shows I'm not the best player right now. I hope my play and ranking goes up after I move out (due to the less stressful situation in RL). ;)

The computer I'm using now has all sorts of spy/mal-ware & has been incredibly slow today. It's now to the point where I can barely even load a single chess.com page so I may be out of commission as far as that's concerned for a few days. :undecide:

Thanks Pete & actually looks like it's solved now *crosses fingers*.

Note (mostly to Sashie) : I'm going to stay officially "on vacation" until tomorrow though cause I had way too much to eat today and a bit of wine & my mind's definitely not ready to handle the complexities of our game (let alone twelve others waiting for my move! :D).

I think I am handling my 7 concurrent games pretty good so far. I may not move for a couple of days, except if the game's time period is 3 days or less. I got some RL issues to solve first.;)

Does anyone know where Luceafarul has gone? He hasn't moved in almost two weeks??????

He's around, I sent him a move reminder when he had 17 or 18 hours in one of his games a couple days ago, I'm pretty sure he's aware of the time in your game but I'll message him tomorrow if he still hasn't moved in your game.

It's looking like I may win on time against chattanogua. :D Unfornately, that possible win is definately upset with my certain loss to urithon in game 2. :( Real sorry about that game. I need to play more games against the AI (or eat more fish [brain food ;) ]).
