So i have heard that stacks will be limited, but not eliminated,
if that sounds different lol, but if so, couldn't you have the option
to attack with multiple units at the same time, and getting a bigger strength
number for having a stack?

No, stacks are entirely eliminated, only one unit per tile will be allowed.

You heard wrong, which would normally invalidate the entire post but I'll let it slide.

The new system encourages encirclement and envelopment. In other words, having more units around the one you're attacking is good for two reasons.

1. Strength bonus

2. Fewer retreat routes.

Given that all units can withdraw from battle now, surrounding a unit (or city) will effectively make that unit "surrender" and be destroyed, destroying a force that could annoy you later.

im glad to hear stacking has been eliminated. its not realistic to have 40 units on the same tile. I didn't like how if there was a stack of 10 destroyers you would have to have a bigger stack to win. you should be able to attack the same boat twice.

There's a big difference between one (1) and infinite. While the Stack of Doom (SoD) is a very disruptive element, I could've lived with a stack of 2, 3 or 5. But let's see how 1 works out :)

I think the only stacking will be that an air unit and a ground unit can occupy the same space. If they've decided something else, please point it out instead of just saying "you're wrong", which is about as helpful as cutting steak with a napkin.
