Aussie Soldier Disgrace

A bit off topic but when did people start using "aussie" to describe Australians?

About the same time we started using Yank to describe US citizens, during WWII I would suspect although Aussie is an Aussie term I think not an English slang term.

Another tribute to US competence in the ME.

Did not the US soldiers working in a US hospital give them the wrong body, blame shared equally there.

Sorry to disappoint you Sidhe but this is one you can't blame America for.

It clearly states in the linked article that the body was mixed up at a private mortuary in Kuwait which was WELL after it had left the US military Hospital in Baghdad and into the custody of the Australian Army.

Yeah, I scoured the whole article, hoping for a chance to jump on the anti-U.S. bandwagon (just to follow the crowd for a change), but couldn't find any real facts backing up such a stance. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

Btw, "whiskey", not walter. ;)

Fair enough, there's a world of other stuff but in this case no. In fact if I wait a few days I bet George Bush goes and makes another blunder or someone uncovers some crap that makes his administration look like a bunch of propagandist faccists. :)

I didn't read the whole article, I just skimmed it anyway. Ooops my mistake. Hmm, you sure the US didn't confuse the issue by tagging the body up wrong, oh come on throw us a bone here ;)

What does whiskey tango foxtrot mean exactly? Am I missing an inside joke?

You know what WTH stands for, right?

He was just spelling it out phonetically. Only using the wrong word for 'W'. -Which I anal retentively pointed out, seeing as how it's closely related to what I do for a living. ;)

Yea, I know what WTH is.. lol, omgbbq.

I'm not familiar with the way he spelt it out. And people were responding to it so I thought there was some hidden message behind it.

Ah. So now you know. So if I was to say, "Kilo Mike Alpha" - you'd know what that meant now. See, you live and learn. That's progress.
