[Vanilla] Base Game Patch Notes (February 2018)

I forgot how terrible the base UI is, feels like I've lost 20 IQ and ever turn takes twice as long :cry:

I think R+F only, because it isn't in the patch notes...

Well the patch notes aren't cohesive, and we've also had changes alerted in this thread that weren't in the patch notes, so I wouldn't put too much stock in what's on the patch notes and what isn't.

The Australia color change isn't in the patch notes, but that's definitely in this new build.

Just ran about 20 standard Pangea starts with autoplay to see start positions:

Major Civs are being spaced properly from each other and from city states but every map has at least one occurrence of 2 city states only having 3 hexes between them. I see no evidence of CS start positions being any more evenly distributed between majors. Infact it looks worse, but this might be caused by the bug that is letting CS start to close to each other.

For wood chops
It must be the GOTM old save... a new game looks fine
So are you saying chops are toned down or not?

Halleluja for the map pin fix and alert, if they really made it!

This is new in the yields.xml file:

<!-- NUmber is a multiplier to the sum of the sqrt of each city population. Value increases the priority of the builds accordingly -->
<Row PseudoYieldType="PSEUDOYIELD_STANDING_ARMY_NUMBER" DefaultValue="1"/>
<Row PseudoYieldType="PSEUDOYIELD_STANDING_ARMY_VALUE" DefaultValue="0.1"/>

If I were to guess, it looks like they put in a new way for the AI to access if it needs to build military units

Read more of the thread. Aside from colour swaps, looks like almost none of the patch notes were accurate?

Um, am I the only one who's seeing -1 Unit maintenance on, like, every single unit? In the tooltip. It appears to be a UI error only as the units do cost maintenance according to my expense report, but the UI is reporting that every single unit in the game costs "-1 Gold" maintenance. I disabled all my mods, this is very strange.

Edit: Verified my game files and no change, dunno what this is heh.

Looks like the siege bug is still there. Watch 1:44 in the Firaxis Zulu gameplay video on Twitch. Their unit was eliminated, but the siege status wasn't removed. One of the devs even mentioned it. Although once he moved a slinger away from the city the siege status did properly lift. But it's possible that in another turn it would have updated properly. But either way, that city was not under a proper siege at 1:44 (one hour and 44 not one minute) in the video.

The patch broke my game. It crashes now during the civ loading screen. :cry: Hopefully, installing Rise and Fall will fix it. Otherwise, I might have to reinstall the whole game and see if that fixes it.
