I dislike minimaps, I'll play hardcore mode if it is still an option. Regenerativ healing in BC2? I always played hardcore and you didn't heal until a medic healed you. Who the hell plays normal mode in that? It shows you the person that kills you and their location, which total ruins sniping or sneaking.

That is what recon snipers do. They camp in a bush and wait. That is why they have scoped rifles, camo, spotting assist and mortar strikes.

Except 99% of people playing Recon class suck at it. I played Medic and Engineer almost exclusively.

I play the class the team needs most and that regularly lands me a few thousand points ahead of anyone else. Hardcore 4 lyfe.

And of course ignoring their greatest asset, the Motion Sensor. The best Recons are the ones who stay relatively close to the frontline, use these devices, call in mortars on the closest obstacles, and act as a spawn point for their squad.

It's like having an Assault using a 4x gun from beyond the frontline instead of being up front and keeping everyone resupplied. Or like an Engineer sniping with a Carl Gustav instead of repairing vehicles. Or like a Medic sniping with an M60 instead of keeping everyone on their feet. Good for one guy's K/D, not so good for the team. And last time I checked, the former is not the focus of this series. And neither is camping.

To be fair a medic sniping with an M60 is probably getting more kills than most of the rest of the team. Especially if he is a talentless hack who relies on magnum ammo. My favourite gun is the one with the built in red dot scope, I never used magnum ammo and almost always had a positive kdr and thousands of points from healing.

Hardly anyone mentions hardcore actually. We just play it. I see more complaints in normal gamemodes.

From BC2, I have no problem with Recon that actually help the team, but killing lots of people doesn't mean anything when the other team has all the flags capped.


That was a nice multiplayer trailer. I've always been hesitant to pick up the main Battlefield(I only play BC) due to either friends wanting to play BC and cause they are the most recent out of the franchise(correct?)

But I am itching to run through Paris and blow some crap up

I usually played Rush but conquest was fun too. Depends on the maps, I didn't really like most of them. Panama Canal, Arica Harbor (fav), and Heavy Metal were the ones I liked the most. Didn't really play Oasis, Harvest Day or Cold War as they came out later on. I hope the maps in BC2 are much better.

I usually play Special Forces class because of the C4. I find it the only effective way to deal with tanks and other armoured vehicles. Running up to a tank slapping two bombs and moving 5 metres away is a lot faster and more effectively than the anti-tank gun that needs to load. Plus, tanks have a blind spot if you are right next to it. So it's hard for them to fire at you as oppose to anti-tank guns where you are usually in it's line of fire and it takes forever to reload...

A few days ago EA decided to cut out a few weapons, ammo and attachments from BF3 and make them into this "Physical Warfare" pre-order exclusive pack. So far only announced for Game & Gamestation in the UK. However, according to DICE the pack will be available for (all?) pre-orders and will unlock for FREE to EVERYONE after a couple of months or so.

So still kind of dumb, but they have promised it will not give any advantage (seems pointless then) to those who have it and will be free for everyone so good enough I suppose.

Apparently DICE has been receiving complaints from PS3 players after they showed off the PS3 game footage in a recent interview. The complaints are mostly about how the game doesn't look as good on the PS3 as on a PC. Which isn't surprising considering the PS3 is 5 years old. However, I think it still looks pretty damn good.
