Oh my gosh, could it be, a new unit from SOMEONE?!

Looks great, we can always use some shiny new, massive space ship thingies.

:goodjob:

woooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo! more B-E-A-oottifull spaceship-killing-explosive-laser-cool-thingy, ngeah!!!! (i get over-excited, sorry)

Great unit. Only problem being, Galactica doesn't use lasers, it uses a range of projectile weapons (including nuclear weapons).

The orginal(and better) series used lasers...:D
LOL not sure I'd agree entirely with that I watched the originals when they were originaly released and special effects were not nearly as good at that time.

Great job on the unit I really like the little viper flying around.

Hi Flamand, great unit!! :goodjob: :)
Originally, you do not give up the produce of C3, I am too glad! This some months me too busy , work lets the time that I can not have free time make unit. When I see every time, have new C3 unit to issue is so high mood, I do not also give up and forget C3. I like C4, but I more like C3.Recently, I begin to make new unit, hope than before can have more raising. Flamand, You are stronger!!:king:

I should have known that in 5 posts the discussion on which one is better would start... :D The old ship is nicer in my opinion, but when I started this I only had this model. Meanwhile I got a classic one as well, perhaps you can expect that in a few weeks.
But I have to disagree on the lasers of the new Galactica: what are these then?
Galactica_detail.jpg

Perhaps they don't use them much, but they are there... :)

@La_Dav: can't wait to see more of your work... :)

Fixed it...

For now, the preview images seem to be offline.

Well done on this unit. It is imaginative and very pleasing to look at.

@the whiners, Who care's which one is better. If someone gives you a Ferrari, are you really in the mood to complain that you prefer Porsche. Consider this: Even if you prefer one series to the other, you still have this beautiful unit to play with. As the catalog of available space ships grow so does the inventive way the modders will use them. And this is a pretty unit that I would't mind seeing in a mod or two, no matter what they call it in their game.

Now the DL link is offline too, it seems the CFC file server is acting up a bit. Hopefully the admins will sort it out. Fortunately I was lucky enough to DL it first and comment on it later.

Thanks Bjorn! :)

Flamand knows my thoughts on the Battlestars, that is why I found him a model of the old Series Galactica.:D

But this post is in response to those who thought the Galactica did not have lasers capable of causing damage. The quote is directly from the Battlestar Galactica Tech Manual.

Turbo-Lasers on the Galactica were powerful enough to destroy fighters, asteroids and their combined power was capable of destroying another vessel. Given what was seen in the TV series, the Turbo-Laser turrets on the Galactica probably had a low-end power rating of 60 Gigawatts and a standard power output of roughly 1,000 Gigawatts. With 32 Blaster turrets per Battlestar and two heavy Laser cannons the Galactica would have a total, maximum energy output of about 107,755 Terajoules.

So my friend flamand has the attacks correct. Just need the Solonite missile attacks.;)

:nuke: Cheers, Thorgrimm :nuke:

Ok, I added the missile attack. You can go all back to praising the unit now... (me being extremely vain... :D)

but I wanted a porsche...damn this Delorian...
Not even a time traveling Delorian? :)

I think sometimes views are dependant on what you actually saw, when..
I like the original series, but then again I viewed it then and there. Someone who was born after it, would probably consider it cheesy...different era, different perception. Same thing with Trek and why I like TNG the best.

This is a great unit. I'm collecting from sources all around for my mods. Great stuff. Does BSG has a good possibility for a mod though? Wouldn't many units have to be completely new to any of the series?

Time travel is worthless until they invent "Mr Fussion"...I dont have Plutonium...maybe they sell it at your Corner Store...but here in 1985 its a little harder to come by...

(What AM I TALKING ABOUT??? Oh no here come the Lybians)
