Good to know. Now I'll just become a germaphob and lock myself up for the rest of my life!:crazyeye: j/k

Very shocking. Never heard these before....Wonder if they're true.:hmm:

I'd never leave my room again. I'll make the walls padded, static free, white, and you can only enter after you have been completely sterilized.

What lovely things to know.

... and I can solve that problem... :D

Contamination is a real though often hidden phenomenon in modern city living. Having worked with radionuclides ("radioisotopes" ) one becomes aware of the trail of chemical substances from source via many intermediates to the target.

One could add:

Everytime we make a transaction with notes we're collecting X pathogens

Everytime we enter our house with our shoes on we're depositing X grams of dog/cat poo which over time can be quite considerable pile.

Maybe it's just that more men wash their hands afterwards.

This is old, and fragmented. There's actually like 20-some things on the list. I'll see if I can find the entire list.

...but yeah, disturbing stuff.

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.

Butterflies taste with their! feet.

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people.

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.

A cat's urine glows under a black light.

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.

Starfish have no brains.

Polar bears are left-handed.

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.

I just checked a 2 dollar bill, and that is very clearly a Canadian flag.

I've heard that one about Stalingrad too. Dunno if it's true for Stalingrad, but it certainly isn't for Berlin, for two reasons: Berlin zoo had more than one elephant, and one of them even survived the war (there are official documents and photos).
