Beat this please

@ Seraiel

There are 15 seafood resources and 14 rice which is what? Around -45gpt and +15F when Sushi is available. The alternative would be there are 29 total CM resources available which is around -44gpt and +22F but it does come quite a bit later. I'm horrible at math so don't know which is better ;).

Ok, this is convincing. I'm still not sure if it is worth at all to found a corp. Don't forget, you need many more beakers and which is worst, many more pop to whip those execs. Anyhow, how I don't think one will get 15F from Sushi, I'd wonder if one would only get 10F, as AI doesn't seem to settle the land in my game, and they won't trade for ressources they've only once. I'm atm really starting to think about beelining Biology and stopping Research after that and ending the game earlier, maybe rushbuy the settlers, don't know. Will do some Math now and maybe reroll my strategy, this map doesn't neither look like a Sushi game to me, nor like any Corps game, but I might be terribly wrong.

EDIT

If you go Sushi, skip Astronomy. Don't need it, only funks up the Bio Bulb.

So I just wanna piggy back what I was saying earlier about the speed at which you win the game has very little impact on trying to achieve a high score. Sushi/CM, city spam, with lots of overlap but with every 8-12 tile city @ 20-25 pop+ should work best.

So my domination in 75BC only scores 93K but I'm still playing and will post updated corporation game later.

@ Seraiel

Open up my 1120 save and mess around with it. Imo it's a very strong opening that Oracled CS while chopping enough WC to already kill Willem and Hanni before I actually finished the Oracle. Also, you already have enough WC to also kill Louie in a flash while Willems old capital can quickly chop out enough WC to quickly own China too. Either way, someone with your knowledge in growing big should be able to pull a pretty massive score I would imagine :D.

Or you could try using my edited save 1 turn before getting Izzy to Capitulate.........meaning you can settle all the land and every city however you see fit. Either way switch the merchants in the Capital for priest......use that GP for the Holy city in Paris i think. Would work nicely if you do plan to go the Corp route. I'm still thinking only 1GA (MoM) with 3cities should get you 5-7 GS to bulb and 1 or 2 more delayed??? Should still let you found Sushi at a reasonable date I would imagine??

what makes the score be big the turn 114 win in the precapitulation topic above only got 97,720 which my turn 260 win beat.

Also

i tried the chariot rush next game by turn 130 i beat 4 civs but then i hit a strong one and had to stop but i didnt build enough and had to then build and still havent won by turn 200 there are 3 civs left on islands and i still dont have galleons what do i do to still win quick when this happens.

Was there any bigger than vransm getting 171,403?

I am replaying, and should get around 300k. I will abuse corps this time. But it will take longer, last time all I did was fought wars.

There's a break point you need to win by, else score starts falling off very rapidly in terms of finish date. Up until the 1000 AD (and a bit after) ranges, finish date doesn't matter much at all. However, after that it eventually gets to a point where score starts declining at a rate where pop growth can't really keep up with it.

Alright.......I'm in the process of starting my 4th GA right around 1000AD and should have biology finished around 1050AD at which point I'll take Lib and get Medicine around 1070-1080AD. Not only did I have like 25 captured workers I built an additional 15 or so and almost every city has max improvements.

I'm sitting at 54% of worlds population and plan on gifting Izzy 6 cities (to start with), but first I'm spamming settlers towards the direction of the gifted cities and have toooo many workers at this point lol. Every new city I found uses chain irrigation and spams farms/windmills in every single tile and then I gift the new city to Izzy. Additionally I'm giving her all the happiness resources, techs, luxuries, AND gifting her units so she can grow those cities big.

Ummmm........So, at a minimum I'm going to gift her a total of 17 cities which if my math is even close to right should allow me to settle/spam Sushi/grow the rest of my land to 20-35 pop cities. I'll use 2-3 cities to spam A LOT of CAV so when I'm ready to win I'll simply launch like 8-12 big stacks of CAV and take all her cities over in 4-8 turns. That should give me around 55-60 cities, 2/3 of which should all be 25+ Pop.

I'm hoping to accomplish all this NLT 1500AD (probably a lot earlier!) and hope for a pretty massive score.

Bump up the level and you'll get a bigger score

is there some kind of multiplyer? My last game i got 104,917 still noble normal and finished at turn 224. i thought i would get more score.

LOL.

You taking till 1100 AD and only getting 107k of score will let me play this map even though I have 0 experience with standart / normal settings. You're gonna cry if I beat you.

Sera

A little bit off-topic but I have a request from you Seraiel. Why don't you do some youtube Deity Let's Plays so that we would have a chance to see how come you Lib Medicine in the late B.C era? Besides that it would be very helpful for many who want to get higher scores and earlier victories. I think many people in the forum would be glad to see you do that.

I hope you realize that typical Seraiel's game lasts around 200 hours of gameplay... you sure you wouldn't fall asleep at points?

This. I'm neither a fast player, nor are the settings made for youtube. In addition, I don't even know how to upload something on youtube, but I guess I could find out, I also guess, the video could be made with FRAPS.

Most of the extremely early Lib->Med comes from Deity AI which is a decent Tradepartner. Believe me, I'm still cursing everytime I play tox_vons game. It's easy as hell, but one has to do everything alone. In my game, it took AI until 450 BC untill somebody had Alpha. Alpha, IW and Monarchy were the only techs I could trade for. On Deity, AI tends to get Alpha 1500y earlier and after that keeps up in tech for very long.
Next thing is Huanya Capac and Marathon, which is a huge snowball. By the time Hatty has 3 cities, Huanya has 10 for the same cost, and many of those are capital sites. This also synergizes with Deity AI founding many more cities much faster. A start having excellent commerce and production is also necessary.

In this game, I use similar tactics to what I do on Deity, but main problems I'm stuck with atm, is, that Settlers = 3* more expensive than Quechuas, I didn't find a proper great Persons Farm yet (think I will take Qins Capital for that) and the Gamespeed somehow makes things really different, i. e. I somehow had real problems to get up Globe Theater in my first Try, don't know why, but it took forever. Otoh, Cottages seem somehow to develop faster, I cannot remember having had full grown Towns at 1 AD in any of my Marathon games.

25 stolen Workers? You're kidding me :D I was already ashamed that I stole about 8 and thought this was unfair to tox_von :D . Will try to beat your dates, brb later.

That's why I said mess around with my saves. I really do think they're pretty strong. Um......I'm not sure if getting to the techs I said earlier is better or worse ;). Just saying.......how many cities do you have right now?

I.E., @ 1020AD I have 30 cities, 45 workers, total population of 36,887,000, currently have 21 settlers in Que from 7 different cities in 3turns each, and still making workers from 2 cities in 2turns each. Um, at zero slider I'm at +330 gold w/out emphasizing gold in many cities at all. At 100% slider I'm at 1100 bpt w/out emphasizing gold/research. I've got 23turns left in my GA and am already in Serfdom/OR again. Been spamming hindu missionaries still.

Anyways, in around 12 more turns I'll have enough settlers to settle 24 more total cities and all my old cities will already have granaries/forges/CH/market/and grocers. That means I'll have quite a few turns left of really emphasizing some research and get some good whips in to finish off most new cities infrastructure.

But it's all very tedious and time consuming. Probably gonna take me a few more days to finish. I'm hoping for a 500K + but I have no idea how it will work out.

Edit: Oh yea, I used 6 GP farms. One of Giggles cities, 2 of Louies cities, Qins old Capital, my Capital, and a city I founded early above Willems old capital with lots of trees....thats my TGL/NE city.

I hope you realize that typical Seraiel's game lasts around 200 hours of gameplay... you sure you wouldn't fall asleep at points?

Then I'd watch it like a long serial, like one season per week  Besides kidding, 200 hours is pretty long but worth the outcomes like 2.295.000 scores :goodjob: Seraiel.

You have to find the fastest way to Sushi and Kremlin, because once you got that, the whole game changes and goes crazy.

Have nothing to compare right now because I restarted, building Mids without Stone was stupid. This time I settled Stone in the very NE and also played with a 2nd Cottage-City, therefor, I had no real GP Farm till now. Settled 12 cities till 500 BC and am now somewhat more careful with expanding further because I can keep the Slider only at 40%, but that doesn't say much, because I'll run a REP-Specialists Economy. Will post statistics once I reach 1 AD again.

And: I cannot mess around with your saves. I'll have a look at them, to see how you're playing, but I want to have my own playthrough of this map :) .

More than 1 GP Farm is the way to go imho, at least that's the same I did in my saves. I usually take every big food-rich ctiy and let it run as a GP Farm during the GA-Chain, nettoing in at least 3-4 more GPs. Anyhow, this all has to happen before reaching Sushi / Communism. Don't settle too much too early, reaching Sushi / Communism asap is the highest goal.

And you went for Giggles and Izzy? :D For me, they were too far away imho, choked Hannibal and Qin, made peace with them once I had enough workers, and think I'm going to stomp them with War Chariots at 1 AD. Atm, I'm at 300 BC, HE-City is set up and produces War-Chariots every round, should be pretty easy to overrun them even though Qin and Willem have Spears. The other possibility would be to wait for an XBow-Rush but I don't know how 1 movement Units do on normal Speed. Maybe it would be even wise to wait for Cuirrassiers and better settle some more cities and let them do that to, but AI doesn't seem to develop the land somehow, so I think that waiting is a waste of time, better conquer them earlier and use their cities onesself. This would definately be different on Deity.

Then I'd watch it like a long serial, like one season per week  Besides kidding, 200 hours is pretty long but worth the outcomes like 2.295.000 scores :goodjob: Seraiel.

TY :)

One thing I really am not clear about is why this thread got so much attention from high difficulty players (guilty too...)

wouldn't be better to do it on Emperor at least?

I can keep the Slider only at 40%

how should the culture slider be used and when? i havent used it before in games

Right title and tox_von's hardheadedness attracted the right people. I can only answer you why I'm doing this, I want to beat Zero

Culture-Slider is only if you go for cultural victory, I was talking of the Science-Slider.

And late game or war time happiness with theatres and/or coliseums, although I avoid it if possible. Can help with score milking though.

Yeah, tox_von's title probably provided some interest, but for me I just wanted to help him hopefully learn something.

Some of the best players in the game use culture slider. When do you use it? When your cities are red to the max and dying off is a good time.

Do this next time. increase your culture slide and see the affects of culture slide on the science out put during red face(unhappy) time. For best effects you need a theater and a collosium. This become more important during space games involving mid game wars. What happen is that as turns go by your science rate go down due to unhappy citizen and the way out is the culture slide.

Of course if your cup of tea is fast conquests, then don't even look at it ;).
