Beefjack interview (Morocco hinted?)

It is probably built on oases and provides extra food, gold, and culture.

Moors make sense, great choice :D

Also:
But we start out fairly simply. After thirty turns you all vote on the resolutions that were proposed. In the next era after that the cycle continues again, more resolutions are passed and everybody gets a few more delegates to work with now, and then a few more the next era after that until everybody’s got a sizeable chunk of delegates to be able to spread their votes around.

WC delegates will be cumulative for each era!

I alluded to this earlier in a different thread...

That building (in the poster) next to the trading post will have something to do with trade, hence it's proximity to the trading post. In fact it looks like it's sharing the same tile.
I'm guessing that it's the UI for Morocco, which you can build along trade routes/roads which provide a safe haven for your caravans to shelter when being threatened by barbarians/enemies.

she isnt naked. she is wearing a lion.

Which is muuuuch less naked than anyone could ever be wearing dyed cotton......

The poster pretty much confirms it. Now we only have to wait for the press release that Morocco is in.

Calling it now: there'll be an achievement for creating a Great Work with the modern-era Great Musicians (a punk band) while stationed on a kasbah improvement

I still like my suggestion, "Rob the Kasbah."

Who would be the leader though? Ismail Ibn Sharif?

Better yet, Great Musicians can go into foreign territory and play concerts to increase tourism output. Sounds like a ready-made achievement to me.

Odd that they would be called the Moroccans. Why not just call them the Berbers? You don't see the Indians and Chinese being broken down into subgroups.

Because Berber as an ethnic designation can be used to refer to any of the following:

The people of the Moroccon Kingdoms to modern day Morocco.

The Taureg people.

The ancient Garamantes.

The ancient Libu/Meshwesh.

None of which are exactly the same thing as with the examples of India and China. (Although there is probably a direct line from the Libu to Garamantes to the Taureg, Morocco holds a huge debt to Arabian influence and starts with Idris' Kingdom of Fez).

Who would be the leader though? Ismail Ibn Sharif?

I had suggested Zaynab earlier as a significant Almoravid/Berber woman of political influence who could be the Moroccan leader if they wanted a female choice.

So adding/comparing the images it's safe to say that Morocco is more than "Semi-Confirmed"...?

Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the word "confirmed". Let's just say there's a mounting body of evidence in their favor.

While I suspect the Moors are almost confirmed, to play devil's advocate this doesn't confirm it. There's also a Motte & Bailey (from the 1066 scenario), and most scenario civs include new animations and graphics for UUs or UIs specific to the scenario. So it could merely support the notion that Morocco is part of the Scramble for Africa, without confirming it as a main-game civ.
