Benchmarks?

im pretty new to this game and im just wondering if yall have any benchmarks for when you have certain wonders completed or how many cities you have by a certain...but really any beginner type tips would help

You don't need any wonders, or a certain amount cities.

So just try to be top dog in score (if you are not, time for whipping out that axe!)
That usually means you are doing alright

Expanding too quickly can ruin your empire. If your research rate drops below 50-60%, you are expanding too quickly.

Benchmarks vary depending on the skill level you are playing at. On noble level I would say most early-game wonders (except maybe stonehenge) should be achievable by 1000BC.

Early on 3-6 cities is probably as much as your empire can handle without dropping below 60% science (don't forget to build a lot of cottages). Although on noble level it is possible you can sustain more than 6, I'm not sure it's been awhile since I played at that level.
