I played a game with ancient ruins on, first thing my scout finds out of his capital was a group of 6 ruins, first on gives me an Angel, I then use angel to get rest of them, I then got Adventurer drop, iron weapons, mutation with 75% healing per turn and 3 first strikes, then with valor still on, got two drops of 5 cyklops. By the end of turn 16 I had a strength 8 unit with 54 experience and instant healing as well as flying and a movement of 3.

I used that one guy to kill all the empires before turn 150.

Whats your best start?

I sent a warrior into some barbarian spawn structure - can't remember what now. First event iit got withered, the second time it got the curse where you gain half XP, third time it got mutated with something like -40 healing, -3 first strikes and -20 strength. I renamed the unit 'Lucky'

My best start was a game where all 7 AI civs got killed before turn 75 ... (( i think it was the Vermicious_Knid's Animal Edition of RifE ))

I haven't played a lot yet with 1.31 (just one game so far), but I started right next to the unique feature that gives the three gold golems. Seems rather overpowered to have three str 10 units with 2 movement on turn 3.

Speaking of which...I think the new unique feature that gives the three gold golems might be a bit overpowered:D

It's a unique feature added by one of vali's modules, it can be claimed to spawn 3 10 :strength: Gold Golems which remain under your control as long as your unit remains on the improvement. Horribly unbalanced of course, but the idea is good.

Ah, I didn't realize that was part of that module. Sorry for the confusion. I agree that the ideas of those UFs are nice (I especially like the Lightning Temple)

Well, one time I got the Elohim equivalent of an assassin (forgot the name) in the first ruin I discovered. This unit has a sanctify spell and so I was able to get a lot of "Host of the Einherjars" out of the graveyards all over the place. Einherjars are angles and next to my capital was the Pyre so I durned all of them to permanent Fire Elements...

A few turns later I quitted...
