Beta test: I'm IN!!!!

I know it is not all random but Firaxis or Breakaway did what they thought was right and it is right for them because they know you and how you can help them. :)

I thought with an older system (900 CPU 256 PC 133 RAM, Vodoo 5 5500, Sound Blaser Alive.) and the fact that I've been big with games for as long as I can remember and a computer programer, that I would get in... but nope...

Congrats to those that did!!!! Have fun and enjoy! Oh yeah, and be sure to get the bugs out and do your best to get most of the great suggested features added in!!!!!!

Altough mine is a notebook, its old as well (750Mhz) and i'm a programmer... so i wonder what the requiremets and how the choose somebody against somebody else.

I figure i would have a list of system/tester requirements that i want to have covered. Kind a like a spread sheet with columns for cpu/ram/video/harddrive/os/ocupation/age.
Fill all the application values in and then run an algorithm over it that respects my requirements.
After this first filtering step i would run a second algorithm to cover the most of all system possiblities with as small as possible number of testers...

Wild guess... one thing is for sure you have to blame the algorithms...

Uhhh, I don't think you had to fill in any of the fields in order to get in. ;)

Well, looks like my life drops another notch. :p

Congratulations to all! I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised, and am looking forward to it. I'm even more surprised, and feel even luckier, when I consider that some of you had "recommendations." Chieftess, as if you needed a recommendation. All you had to put on your application, among other things, was: 1) #2 poster at CFC; 2) one of the best moderators the Civ 3 community has ever known; and 3) CFC Civ 3 tournament champion. ;) See you guys on the other side of the NDA. :goodjob:

Hold up!!! They have tournaments.

Guess I am not in. Won't be handy to prepare scenarios without knowing the new features.

I know what you mean!!!

Stupid NDA

Can your feedback include editor ideas or just bugs& balance?

Or are you not allowed to say?

I'm sure many will give feedback that includes editor ideas whether supposed to or not :p However, I expect that bugs and balance are the focus and suggestions there are far more likely to be implemented.

That's all speculation, of course. I expect it'll take them a couple days to a week to get all the NDAs back before the betas are distributed and testing begins in earnest and the wall of silence goes up ;)

Nope, yesterday was it. They are probably not going to send them anymore. I think they did not choose me because of my name, it is really weird. But who knows? I filled in all the optional info and everything.
:( :(

But who cares. I will get over it. I am not the only one here not to get chosen. But still I am disappointed. I never ever did anything like this.

Good luck to everyone that got in

Not publically. I'm sure they'll have a forum where you can post ideas in there. It would be like indirectly saying what's in the game. If you were to leak, the mods just might have to ban you to prevent you from talking. :mischief:

I meant privately

Something like

URGENT BUG:

The editor doesn't have events
Could you fix this bug quickly?

:p

This has gone from the "I'm in" thread to the "I'm out" thread.

I didn't get in because I knew anybody or got a recommendation or filled in all the fields or had done it before because I didn't, didn't, didn't and hadn't!! ;) I filled in all but two of the fields so had made my best effort but that's as far as it went. I certainly wasn't first to apply either because I only saw the information about it on the last day for applications to be in. Even had to check the date on my TV mag to make sure I hadn't missed it! :o Now I'm hoping that the guy in the Post Office had got the correct code for the US. He used 13200. Is this correct do you think? If not, I'll pulverize him!!!!! :nuke:  :D

yes... Im with jan. I didnt, didnt, didnt, hadnt or whatever as well. I did already have a 117 page paper written on who my favorite tribe was (the celts) from which I could pull a well worded answer from.... ....

I feel much more lucky now than I did then however

I assume it will take some time with people faxing/mailing them in as well. They are probably rather busy too. I wouldnt worry too much.
