Beyond the Monument Episode 20 - Entering the Brave New World! (discussion thread)

Asked.

Great video.

Germany and America confirmed to be unchanged. That's all I need to know.

Can you show us if the great war infantry/infantry was changed in when you get them? Is there a new unit in that line?

Are the post gunpowder melee units in that line in general changed pacing wise?

EDIT: Awww....

How is it he's generating more tourism than culture?

Just got home and I will check it out for a bit. I don't want to be too much of a groupie. :)

Is this video going to be available for viewing later? I am in class now and can't watch! (Well, I could, but it is hard to listen to two different speakers at the same time.)

Good point about having culture building already built before you take over other cities so the works won't disappear.

Well, I was gonna play Gods and Kings but now that I've seen all of this amazingness I don't think i'll be able to do that :P

Wow, unhappiness certainly isn't an issue... Those are some giant cities, and 79 happiness?

Nice to see Harald actually, well, alive in the late game, and seemingly doing fairly well.

Truly pedantic point, but I'm disappointed they went with the Asian graphic style for Malacca, as it seems lazy. It was founded by the Portuguese and is known to this day for its colonial architecture, with its inner city a World Heritage Site. While modern Malacca has obviously outgrown its colonial roots, it's presumably included as a CS due to its importance as a trading port (in fact it would make more sense as a Portuguese city than as a CS).

When there's no unhappiness from ideology, high happiness is eminently possible. If you're subject to the 80 unhappiness from ideology that Hiawatha is, however...

So was he not allowed to show Venice?
